Blue Moon — Restaurant in South Amboy

I will preface by saying, I am a regular in town, own a few properties and businesses. I always support and visit the local businesses. If you want a true South Amboy feel, go to either South Stevens Pub or RTB. This place is by far the worst place in terms of service. I'll never forget this place because of how inherently delusional (or possibly racist) the bartenders were. My wife, father and I walked in and grabbed a seat at the bar. We thought a bartender might stop by to take our orders so we starting chatting. Almost 45 minutes later, we had to go out of our way to chase down the bartender in a nearly empty bar to let them know we wanted to order drinks and food (we didn't even have a menu yet). The bartender then took at least 15 minutes to walk up and take our order (still no menus offered). Another 30-45 minutes later, I chased down the same bartender to ask for the drinks because we still hadn't got them. Meanwhile, there were "regulars" that had been walking in and out, being served. (Example: Guy walked in, got two beers and left in the time we hadn't even gotten the attention of a bartender.) We walked into this place, sat down and didn't even get to drink or eat anything. The entire 1.5 to 2 hours we were there, we would've easily went through 3-4 beers each with a ton of food because we were HUNGRY.

If you want to take your chances, go right ahead. If you want to go to a really good environment and be treated with respect, go to ANY OTHER BAR in...

Blue Moon (South Amboy’s Original Martini Bar) is a nicely furnished relaxed environment.

Located at the corner of Henry St and South Broadway in South Amboy NJ; hands down the best in town!

Great vibe, great music. Music enthusiasts frequent this bar as well as friendly patrons.

They have live bands on select days, TouchTunes jukebox, lunch and dinner specials and great service!

The food is outstanding and you can’t get a better NY Strip anywhere in the immediate area. Fresh butcher quality meat always fresh!

Wednesday is HAPPY HOUR ALL DAY!

The taps are the cleanest I’ve drank from and the beers are always crisp and cold! Martini menu is well developed and they can always make what ever you wish as well as traditional Tinis!

The selection of spirits is impressive and a Large selection of Whiskeys Bourbons and Scotch round out the offerings.

Well worth the trip...

The bartender, petite young lady, was FANTASTIC. I've spent my 20's and early 30's bartending so I have pretty high standards... She was a perfect 10 all around. It was laid back, the other patrons were easy going and there was the touch tunes jukebox. We ordered pretzel sticks and pulled pork tapas... The pretzels were AWESOME!!!! Pulled pork was good too! It was my first time here, but def won't be our last. Cudos Blue Moon for keeping such a great vibe during this pandemic... it was def just what we needed! Only thing I could ask for different is White Claw's, since they didn't have any or anything like it, I had a couple whiskey sours...made just right :) Thanks barista (sorry we didn't...
