I take my 1 year old Golden Retriever to the Dog Park here almost daily. Fully fenced of course, there are inner and outer gates at each of 2 entrances, which is customary at Dog Parks for the dogs’ safety. The dogs are mostly wonderful and friendly, but there have been rare occasions where an aggressive or overly excited dog acts up, but I have never seen a serious fight. The dog parents are attentive and love watching the pups run, wrestle, chasing each other as well as balls and sticks. Thankfully the dogs can enjoy the park all year round, and the city maintains it in so far as providing waste bags (one dispenser near each gate) and picking up the trash bags weekly. The city also has made efforts to keep water available when the fountains are thawed. There is fresh water and bowls as well. A few shade trees and benches are helpful for comfort. I think the plan is to grow grass in the center area which would be great. The parking lot is tiny and drivers pull up on to the curb along with using the few spots in front of the park. If the parking area gets enlarged and the debris raked up after the snow melts, AND a clean porta-potty is installed, I would...
Read moreOne of the favorite place my family goes to when we are in the area. The family played volleyball for a little bit and headed to the the playground for my five year old daughter. The playground is next to the bike park, so I brought my RC car with us today. I was met with disappointment to find a posted sign " No RC cars" at the bike park. Although I only drive my RC cars with my son when no bikers are around. I cannot speak for others. It is obvious now that there is a "Need" for one or even two designated RC Track at this park, it is definitely big enough and the tracks can work around the trees if needed. We only drive electric RCs so there are no issues with the noise and lots of little kids who are in the area love watching RC cars driving around including the parents. I really hope that this review gets someone's attention and maybe give them the idea to take actions and help accommodate this type of activities...
Read moreBeen going to south tahoe for years, and never seen this place before. Looks like an X-games training camp. I was here to make my dinner on the shaded tables in the gazebo area really unaware of the full extent of its size when i got there. You can't really see it all from the gazebo, had to walk around. And its huge, and pretty awesome. Be careful walking around this place, it wasnt long before I was in fear of being hit with a golfing disc and ran over by a mountain bike. It has a disc golf course that many were using. Im definitely bringing a bike here, the banks and...
