Children's Lake — Attraction in South Middleton Township

Children's Lake is a small 7 acre Fish & Boat Commision owned lake in the heart of Boilkng Springs. The Appalacian Trail runs through the area, next to it. The A.T. goes from The Atco Fly fishing shop & the Appalachian Trail Conservancy to the historic iron furnace.

Favorite hobbies to do there: Fish for trout & Kayak (public boat launch on the south end.). There are often, geese, ducks, swans & occasionally a lone egret. The park is semi-shaded, has a pedestrian bridge & a gazebo for use / rent.

Its mid to walk around and look at. I mean don't get me wrong, the ducks and geese and water itself is beautiful. But there is poop EVERYWHERE and the whole place stinks so bad. And don't even get me started on fishing. Ur only allowed to use artifical lures, and heads up the fish DON'T want them. Fished for hours and came back multiple days and caught nothing. Absolutely gorgeous to walk around. My Nana and Pap lived in Boiling Springs when I was really little and took us here to walk around the lake many times when we were little.

Whenever I'm in the area (especially with my sister), my day is not complete until I enjoy a walk around Boiling Springs Lake.
