This is by far is a beautiful place to find many things to do with your family. South Park has the Wave pool, many playgrounds for children to play at and if your kids have interests in skate boarding or BMX you must check out these places. The BMX track is one of the top places in the U.S for racers. For golf enthusiasts, there is an 18 and a 9 hole course.
The park had many miles of walking paved paths as well as nature hiking trails to hike and bike. Another thing to check out is The Oliver Miller Homestead, this is a must see. Not far from The Homestead is the hockey dek rink and not from there is the off leash dog park
The park also had the horse stables, the oval track for walkers, runners and anyone looking to get exercise.
In the Summertime you have come and see the free concerts on Friday night at the Amphitheater.
I've been a resident since 2001 and I literally am in the park everyday.
Hope ya stop by and see how nice it is and how friendly the...
Read moreI love South Park and go there daily, but there are a few things that really bother me. The fitness trail parking lots need lighting as the area is pitch black and many people still walk there after dark. With recent car break ins, I do not feel comfortable leaving my car there, in the dark, while I walk.
Another thing is the deplorable condition of some of the roads in the park. Is it really that hard that they can't even use some cold patch to fill in the awful potholes???
And my final complaint is that, while I'm ecstatic to see renovations on the cascades, I was very sad to hear that a few old homes have been demolished within the park that were extremely old and most probably historic. Oliver Miller Homestead is nice, but man... To know other places were torn down makes me so sad and a bit mad.
All this being said, I truly do love the park. It has so many things to see and do. It's a...
Read moreGood park but it blows your mind it cost the same amount of money to fix miles of a main highway as it did to put bike lanes in the main drag of the park.. I'm there everyday and once a day there's the same one bicyclist.. our tax dollars at work giving one man the most inexpensive hobby but way too freaking much from our pockets.. 2 miles of a paved road called a bike lane no guard rail to protect riders but cost 2million and some change dolla dolla bills yall.. That much cash could've brought back the monorail and connected it to north park and prob still saved enough to add another attraction worth your time to come here on your day off.. 2 MILL TO basically pave 2.5 miles of road for the complaining ball sniffer who's going to be in the news soon for getting run the heck over... once again tax dollars set up for failure.." south park biking creates first insurance package for the...
