Pier 99 — Attraction in Sparta

Sitting on the shore by the boat ramp toward the bridge on 42, a group of guys speed through the no wake zone by the boat ramp, next day, does it again, twice. The third time a wave pulled the log off the shore that I was using as a pole holder, I lose my favorite Abu Garcia reel and Nite Stick combo before I can get to it, while I'm yelling "slow down." So I watch where they go, they dock at Pier 99. I pull in, they are quite far back in the lot, I hit the brakes when I see them. One guy immediately comes walking out fast and angrily yelling "YOU BETTER CALL" 911, as if he's going to try to hurt /kill me. I turn my trucks dash cam toward him and let him know he's being recorded. He gets in my face yelling at me. I tell him to back up and he gets right in my truck door to the point I can't even close it. He again threatens me, then yells "I'm the owner of this place, my name is Jason and I own Pier 99!" With quite a bit of cursing. His friend steps in and calmly says, "look, I was driving and I apologize. I'm sorry you lost your pole, I'd buy you a new one if I could." The other guy stomps off and says to his friend, "you have 5 minutes to handle this." Another man around 60 years old apologizes for his friend being so mean and rude. I shake the man's hand and ask that he please do not speed through the loading area again. They agree and I left. I really hope that wasn't the owner, if so, he's a horrible person to deal with and instantly loses his mind if he's caught in the wrong and talked to about it. I feel bad for the visitors...

Friendly staff. Great location on the Ohio River just above Markland Dam across the river from Belterra Casino. Casino has a shuttle that will pick you up and drop you back off at your boat. Marina is in Craig's Creek Lake Community. It's like a harbour/bay like setting. You really feel like you are on a lake. Great for skiing and boating. The ship store also has cute coverups and sells gas, ice, boating...
