Horrible now. I sigh every-time this place gets new owners but this one has to be the worst. First, the menus are paper for some reason, so they’re barely readable and printed badly, so they’re crumbled, torn, and most have water markings so you can’t really read them. Each menu item has some ridiculous name instead of just calling them what the items are. We got the “raft ups?” Which are onion “petals” and while the first time we ever got them they were fine, but this time the onions were cut so thick and wide they weren’t soft or enjoyable. They were also out of the sauce they’re supposed to come with which we weren’t told about, so we got ranch instead which in my opinion was gross with them. Back to the menu, each item is a normal item with some kind of “quirky” twist on each one like a blt with ranch (why?) or burgers with blue cheese, or instead of just a normal chicken sandwich they have a burger chicken sandwich, again, why? I can’t imagine the substitutions that come through on their machines to the kitchen. Now, the food. It wasn’t good. I ended up substituting my way to a normal fried chicken sandwich. It was a three inch thick chicken breast that was fried in hell fire itself. The outsides of the chicken were cooked so much that it was hard and dry like beef jerky and barely could eat it. My children got chicken tenders which were burnt on the bottom, and Mac and cheese that was absolutely from a frozen banquet tv dinner. Husbands burger was barely seasoned but it was definitely the best thing that came out. 80 dollars on some horrible food, we ended up having to spend more money to go to a Dairy Queen because I couldn’t even eat my food. The only thing good are the waitresses who are nice, but with no host, many people go unserved for quite a while and you can hear them complain. I won’t be returning, and many people I know who have visited in recent months also say they aren’t returning. This dream restaurant just needs to retire. It’s not good anymore, no new owners truly have any vision or discipline to...
Read moreTorn, what happened to this place!? My husband and I experienced Steak 19 and Seafood for the first time a year ago. The experience was unforgettable, the food incredible and something worth the travel. It exceeded expectations of just being a casino steakhouse the second that food hit the table for the first time. It was absolutely gorgeous, who knew that such talent was hidden in the middle of nowhere Indiana and casino of all places. It became our new destination from that moment on. Now the service was less than par and the dining room manager was unprofessional but it was easy to forget all about that once you saw the beautiful plates and tasted the food. 19 Steak and Seafood had me at the first bite and self proclaimed foodies we became. *BUT since we have visited the last few times the food has been absolutely horrible and the service even worse. There was an apparent disconnect from our experiences prior that we would traveled so far to enjoy. We visited on the June 4th and 11th, most recently Wed. the 27th. I was so angry with the over cooked cold steak and bland food that we were served compared to what we had grown to love that we wont be planning a return visit. We were the most loyal fans of the masterpieces severed prior that nothing will ever remotely compare. One server commented that perhaps it was a result of the days we had chosen to dine. I'd say...
Read moreThis place has really changed! Inside is divided into two sections. It used to be a bar area on the left side and a more of a dining atmosphere on the right. The dining room side used to have tables next to a wall full of windows, so you could eat and watch the river. This room is now turned into almost the bar’s game room. The beautiful window dining space now has a small table and several dart machines. They have a pool table stuck in the middle of the room and a few other electronic games. As we sat near the pool table, people began playing pool and the cues were often placed between us as they played pool. The bar was having open mic night. They tried to place us in there. It was so loud, this was before the music had started, people were screaming just to have conversations. It seemed that every patron was smoking. As we got up to leave we asked to go over to the now “gameroom”. It was over an hour before we got our food. My wife’s flatbread pizza was delivered to another table. They ran in the back and brought out a flat bread with only cheese and a dipping sauce. The deep fried steak was decent. The green beans were the worst that I have ever had. I ate one bite. They were sweet and soaked in vinegar. It is really hard to not make edible green beans. This is a shame, because the property could be a great destination if it were...
