Silver Springs Park — Attraction in Springfield

Very fun park has a pool, tennis courts, basketball courts (both very nice and well maintained), there is almost always 1-2 workers on site from morning until late afternoon. There is a creek running through the park, there is a pavillion with seating and bathrooms as well in case you want to hold a party there. Great parking and it's down the street from the college campus of OTC so you usually have a few college athletes around and there is enough law enforcement that drives by the area regularly that you don't have to be worried about criminals or drugs being in the park itself. It is Springfield though so you kind of always have to be on your toes about watching for drug related trash being on the ground. There is two separate play sets as well one for the toddlers and one for older kids as well so great for kids and swing sets both for the little ones and the not so little ones! I would have to give this park 5 stars. It is one of Springfield's underappreciated parks. But that does allow for a more serene & peaceful park. My wife, Laura, and I took our "cheagle" puppy (Shadow) out there with us. He had a "blast"; just loved it!! This park has (2) shelters, a swimming pool w/concession stand, (2) basketball courts, a set of tennis courts, picnic tables, grills, plenty of swings & playground equipment for the kids, a baseball/softball diamond & public bathrooms. They even have (2) horseshoe pits there; that's awesome!! A very beautiful park that sits off National just south of Kearney Street. The city did an amazing job with this park. Go visit it & judge for yourself!! One of the best city community parks that I have seen in any city. It provides for a great family outing, a nice stroll through the park, or a nice walk...

It was a cute little neighborhood park. We like stopping at different parks to go walking and site see. This had some play sets here n there. Lots of grass to have picnics. I saw 1 big pavilion. Bathroom was locked during a sunday afternoon. It's fine. If you are looking for paved trails, this is not a good one. My kid also rides his scooter so .. yea.. had to find another.
