I went through the trouble to create a google+ account specifically so that I could write a review for this "establishment" in hopes that it would maybe reach anyone doing their research on this college. Figured I could waste some more of my time since OTC thinks that I have all the time in the world to waste sitting on the phone waiting for them to take my call related to SERIOUS financial issues I have with them. Just like many other people on this site have already stated, THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT YOUR MONEY. They care about it so much that they will withdraw $500+ MORE than what is due to them. They FORCE you to make a payment plan in order to register for classes and then God forbid, you do what they want and pay your FULL balance BEFORE the due date to some third party they go through. But since you veer away from the payment plan that you didn't even want to make in the first place, they STILL PROCEED to take out the money on the dates of your payment plan. Now they say it will take 30 days for me to get my money back and then I can put it in my student account?! NO THANKS... I want my money back in my bank account where it came from! Where's the communication saying that someone already paid their balance in full? THERE IS NO COMMUNICATION. I've had A LOT of experience talking with each department at that college because no one knows any answers around there they just keep transferring you to other people. They don't want to deal with your concerns. They have no sympathy for anyone's situation and then when they come to the conclusion they can't do anything for you because it doesn't fall within their "policies" they either hang up or force you to talk to another department. One person tells you one thing and the next person says that's not true. I would recommend that if anyone else has problems talking to the lower level of OTC representatives, go straight to the higher administrators. We went to the dean with our issues. It's still not taken care of, but at least someone came back to us with answers unlike everyone below that individual! And to think all of this trouble to just be a visiting student taking an online class. I almost wish I would have just spend the additional $1,000 and taken the class at Missouri State since I have NEVER had such complications with any department there in the four years that I have attended. Do yourself a favor and save yourself and your bank account any trouble and DON'T do business...

I started out in the after-hours GED program at OTC, took advantage of their AA transfer degree (and AS in Chemistry). The tutoring center helped me get through all my math and science classes, and the writing center assisted me in honing my writing abilities.Compared to my four-year college down the road.
Pro: Small class sizes!!!, online tutoring, last night tutoring, easier access to student services such as financing, scholarship applications, superb (newer, in better shape) classroom & lab resources. Teachers are often are more accessible. Security has helped jump-start my car several times-very friendly and helpful! Diversity of class times: hybrid classes and late night classes. Often homework is online, with staggered due dates (great for someone working several jobs plus being a student). Cost $$$ was a third of another college and credits transfer anywhere!, Adviser took the time to tell me which classes transferred which way even went as far as introducing me to others for networking. Job/Resume career center was awesome.
Cons: Campus/library/resources are closed over on Sunday, and overnight. weekend, all the lights off in the builds despite being open-feels creepy.
Shared Cons from OTC & MSU: Teacher do not handout items to saves paper, blackboard has bogged down times/days, parking in the beginning of the semester is rough, food/drink prices on campus, government funding/waiting issues...
Read moreMy husband, a retired vet, applied at OTC. He completed all the necessary paper works for his GI bill and to enroll. He was informed that his GI bill would start in October and that would cover his classes and expenses. Well, a few days ago, OTC asked for 670 for two of his classes, we were in a financial hardship at this time, so he went in to talk to them about it, they didn’t seem to care and asked for the full payment or he couldn’t attend anymore. He got all that he could and paid that amount, before leaving he confirmed again with them about his GI bill and when would it be effective in October; a rep there then looked up the information and said that there was nothing processed for him for any financial aid or GI bill. He was shocked and stated that he has turned in those papers before starting classes and that it should have been sent in already, the rep who was so rude didn’t even apologize or care, they just said they would send it out again and it would take up to another 4 to 6 weeks. I was very disappointed along with my husband that they would hire a bunch of people who are irresponsible and not even doing their jobs at OTC. I suggested my husband that he should have gone elsewhere because OTC did not seem to care about their students they just want money, in this case it proves so, because all they wanted was my husband to pay them and they didn’t even bother to process his paper work for his GI bill so he could have his tuition paid for, now he’s going to have to wait...
