So you have to find your own table for your group. Then save the table while someone waits in line to order food for everyone else and get a number for your table. Meanwhile, the servers are going from table to table looking for numbers to match orders to not knowing where they are supposed to go and looking confused and frustrated. One person in our group wanted a grilled cheese sandwich that came out partially toasted with unmelted slices of cheese between the bread. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich that came out and looked really good. Nice and big fried chicken breast with lettuce and sauce and when I bit into it it was actually cold. I did mention it to the server and a few moments later they brought me out another sandwich looking totally different. When I lifted the bun off I noticed that it was actually a chicken tender and not a chicken breast. I know this because other people in our group got the chicken tenders which they said were so so. When we tried to get just glasses of water for the table they informed us they were out of glasses and they would have more eventually. We were never given any eating utensils at any time even though we requested them. And we bought coffee that was never delivered either. As we were leaving. We were asked by a gray-haired gentleman with a beard that was wiping down tables " how was it?". When we informed him of how the dinner went and that we never got our coffee and that food was cold and just wasn't a great experience. His response was thank you for your feedback. And by the way, so you'll know ahead of time they don't bring your orders out all at once they bring them out one thing at a time. And not anywhere near the same time together so that you can actually eat together as a family. We were a party of four adults and two children. As we left, we noticed there was a sign in front of the front doors now saying that they were at capacity and could not see anyone else even though they were several tables available inside and outside. And just to add, I think it is very presumptuous to ask for a tip when you're ordering your food and you haven't even...
Read moreI was really excited for a steak place to finally open on the north side of town. I’d heard mixed things about The Table, and after going myself, I can say I’ve got mixed feelings too.
We got there just before 4 p.m. because we saw on Facebook that they closed for a few hours and reopened at 4. As we pulled up, four people walked out looking frustrated and said, “Don’t bother — they’re out of food.” We also noticed a sign on the door saying they wouldn’t open until 4:30. At that point, we were pretty confused — were they open, out of food, or what?
We decided to wait in the car until 4:20, then went in and found a huge line. At first, they were only selling drinks, so people grabbed a drink and went to find a table. Finally, around 4:30, they started taking food orders.
I really hope they expand the menu a bit — maybe add a filet or even a KC/NY strip. I know a lot of people who won’t eat ribeye because it’s usually fatty. Personally, I love a good ribeye, but when you’re eating with someone who’s a little picky, The Table’s menu doesn’t leave a lot of options. The burgers other people had looked really good, though.
I wasn’t a fan of the fast food style ordering and seating. I can see that causing issues — and it already was when we were there. Groups were coming in, and some people would grab tables while one person waited in line to order. They really need to stop that and only let people sit once they have an order number. By the time we got our food, finding a seat was tough. The place doesn’t have much seating to begin with.
While we were eating, I also noticed that no one really checks on you. If there had been an issue with my food, I wouldn’t have known who to talk to. The only staff we saw were the ones bringing out meals.
The one upside is you don’t really have to tip, since it’s more of a self-serve setup — so you do save around $10–$20. But honestly, it kind of feels like you’re doing most of the work yourself, aside...
Read moreI DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL - First of all, our experience was terrible, but the worst part was the favoritism for guests who are a certain demographic. We were in a long booth that had multiple tables at it and right next to us in the same booth was a group of clearly wealthy people. Both of our groups had orders that had food which was sold out (neither of us were told this until after we paid and sat down). For us, the food runner just brought a random food substitution and said if we want a refund we have to wait in line for it, whereas the owner herself talked to this group next to us multiple times personally and refunded them their entire ticket and then also gave them new entire meals for free, whereas we asked for replacement items and did not even receive them and we were not checked on a single time and we received the wrong sauce and had to flag down someone cleaning tables to get the correct sauce after the food had gotten cold. After we waited for our replacement items for over 25 minutes and never received them, my friend waited in the order line so she could get them to go. Overall this place was an extreme disappointment.. you order the food yourself at the counter and get your own drink, it’s veryyyyy cramped seating and you have to find your own seating, and it’s overpriced for the food quality and service. We got the chicken tenders which had a weird sweet taste and were very tough and they come with a small bag of chips. We opted to upcharge for a different side and in total my meal was 25 dollars. The only thing going for it is it’s a beautiful space.. but I will never come back or recommend this place to anyone and I’m very regretful I did not try and...
