What defines an experience as being memorable is entirely dependent on the individual. However, add in a dash of good fortune and some great people and you've got a surefire memory that will last a lifetime.
This combination is exactly what aligned for my experience with Vineyard 29. I made a reservation at the Napa location but accidentally went to the estate. By some stroke of luck, a car was leaving when we were heading up and we were able to get onto the premises even though the gate and property was closed.
Long story short, the Director Ron Nicholsen invited us in for a private tasting experience instead of turning us away. He shared wines with us that were previously opened that day and even presented our party with some little charcuterie boards.
Considering he could have easily turned us away, the fact that we were welcomed at the end of the day in such a warm manner truly resonates with us.
Everything was top notch, from the service to the wine to the food to the grounds. Make sure you go to the right place because I am sure this was a happy accident but if you have the opportunity, absolutely make your way to Vineyard 29. You...
Read moreIn my opinion, this is one of the best wineries in Wine Country. The setting is so intimate and the owners so passionate - it's hard to find this sentiment in the other wineries I've been to. Chuck and Anne are true innovators and treat the vineyard like they would a start-up. This ingenuity shows in their wines and winery. The cabs are stand outs (go for the Cru), but you really can't go wrong here. I'd be remiss if I didn't also mention Austin Galiano, the entertainer extraordinaire. He is a foodie the likes of which I've never seen. He can pair any wine flawlessly and is one of the kindest people! He always gives my family and I pointers on where else to check out while we're in the area.
Do yourself a favor and become a member and attend Cru Day - the annual celebration for all members and friends! We go every year and it's a wonderful...

Please accept our deepest thanks you's and :) if your ever in Indiana and need a place our doors are open to...
