First off, the place is really cool. It combines an old, historic winery with new, modern features. However, after walking around and seeing different areas, they put is in their large, dark, tasting room with no views. Just a wooden privacy wall around us. It would have been nice to taste outside or at least by windows, to view their pretty outdoors. Our server was an older lady, who wasn't real social with us and yet seemed to spend more time and laugh it up with another older couple next to us. I was more disappointed that Freemark Abbey had turned corporate (as with many wineries in Napa Valley). Read moreDid not have the best experience at this winery. I am a white wine drinker. I’ve been to a many wineries and this is not normally a problem to accommodate. Especially when the winery makes a white of any sort, as this one does. However, when I inquired, I was rudely told no and asked to wait outside if I wasn’t going to be trying the pre-poured reds they had out. I asked if I could buy a bottle or glass of the white to drink outside, was told no. Why????? So I awkwardly waited outside while the rest of my tour completed their tasting. Had another pleasant experience today - typically I don’t leave reviews until I’ve had that consistent level of experience and service, and I felt like it hit that mark today being at the winery for the 5th time.
