After reading in late February about the newly remodeled and recently reopened Interstate Inn ( formerly the Caravan Inn) in Stephenville and the adjacent brand new Stephan Pyles restaurant, The Seeker, I decided we had to visit. As you can see from the pics on the website the Inn boasts a remarkably unique, mid 20th century, retro hip motif that is just so very cool. I woulda paid the price of admission (if one were offered) to see every room. LOL. ||Everything…every feature and facet of the remodel is high-end, first class, sophisticated, functional and attractive. The rooms are decorated with mid 20th century style items like the wall clock in our room. Light fixtures feature the motifs of that era. ||Upon arrival guests are welcomed with a lovely gift bag containing among other things some very cool iconic 1960’s kitsch…cat eye sun glasses for the ladies and candy cigarettes for looking 1960’s way cool at cocktail hour. LOL. So fun. ||In the morning a Continental breakfast is delivered to your porch table in a classic green Stanley lunchbox containing a Stanley thermos of very good coffee, an absolutely spectacular blueberry muffin and mini banana bread, and orange. Class act. So very cool||Stephenville is not on the way to anywhere for us, but we might still do this again for an overnight day trip from FTW just for the pleasure of it. If you are visiting Stephenville and want to a very cool stay, this...
Read moreWOW - A complete rebuild of an old local motel by a talented group of people with an eye for detail, comfort, nostalgia and customer service. What a throwback to what it was like to stay in a classy 1950's roadside motel. ||Our room was impeccably clean with high quality comfortable bedding and furniture out of a 1955 home decor magazine. No detail was overlooked including a lighted full length mirror, period wallpaper, sunburst clock and a 50's decorated Keurig coffee maker. ||The lobby, pool area and outdoor seating area were also 50's ish, designed for relaxation and conversation. The General Manager (Andrea) of the Inn and also their restaurant "The Seeker", has done a great job hiring and training attentive staff. ||Only 2 hours from Dallas, you can't ask for a better quick get-a-way. ||A word of warning, do not book a night without also making a reservation at Stephan Pyles' restaurant The Seeker which is connected to the Inn, no driving necessary if you drink too many of their specialty cocktails. During our Tuesday night stay the restaurant was packed. Check out their Happy Hour drink and snack pricing. If you want to dine at a Stephan Pyles restaurant without the high Dallas pricing, The Seeker's Stephenville pricing is...
