Prairie Trails Public Library — Attraction in Stickney Township

If you want a quiet space away from the librarians if they talk, sit away from the librarians, they’ve got the chairs for that. There’s a private study room that blocks noise out. You just gotta look. Its on the right. Dont be offended if they check the bathroom after you go in.. hasn’t happened to me- or I mean, I don’t care to pay attention to that stuff.. how would you want your bathroom messed with? You know they’re the librarian but they only know you as a stranger. You dont need to give your info to use the toilet.. they scan books, not scrub toilets. They’d rather not I bet. There’s a bunch of computers to the right past the librarians checkout area. I use them for the outlet, I don’t mind if I’m sitting next to someone, or if others are sitting. We grew up sitting shoulder to shoulder with way more people from morning till mid afternoon haha, you’ll be fine. Its a nice place. No, it doesn’t need to be remodeled. This is such a small library, which wouldn't be a problem for the exception that the staff continuously holds conversations. The large lady behind the desk talks continuously throughout every visit I've ever made to this establishment. It's hard to tune out and read, which defeats the purpose of my trip to the library.

Additionally I've been a resident of the community for the past 6 months, however I don't have a library card. The staff told me they wouldn't provide me with the login code. I've visited many libraries who have never had a problem providing the access code, even if I wasn't a resident of that particular town.

Everything is done by computers now. They don't let you go for that one book you lost back in grade school lol!! You will still have fee's for the book I was told by someone who owes them a book. I have heard from others that they have changed alot and I have heard bad things too.
