Gorgeous walk down to the lake - Stockbridge Bowl - which starts at Gould Meadow - a lovely grassy open field that leads into the woods and across a lovely small stream.
You can do a circular walk across open small fields just below Tanglewood and along a narrow wooded path along the lake filled with new and old trees. Easy to moderate walk.
Good all year. Wear sneakers or boots with good tread especially in wet times/ seasons. In winter use a walking stick and or yak tracks or similar tread in ice and snow.

At the lower elevation, along the waters edge is a sitting bench with some shade that looks out across the whole lake..... Very peaceful

Read moreA very nice, manicured path the leads down to the Stockbridge bowl. A loop that goes down to the water, follows the shore and then back into the woods. The path up by Tanglewood is wet, boots or big spanning strides would be good if one crosses the stream up by the stable building.
