It's a free park, and lots of people live on the lake so sometimes they set off fireworks at night. There's a little play area for small kids that's got a jungle gym and swings, as well as a couple of benches around it so that you can watch your kids and make sure they don't get hurt. The water was full of algae though, and it was very warm, almost like bath water. So if you're squeamish you might not like it at all. Though, if you have little children that can't swim on their own safely, there is only a tiny little area of playground equipment, not really enough room for very many children to play on. On the other hand, they do have Kayak rentals by the hour there for adults and the older kids to padded around Vandercook Lake and the waterways and the adjacent lakes connected by them. P.S., The water is usually fairly cool if not cold.
So, have fun, but please pick up...
