San Francisco Bay Trail — Attraction in Sunnyvale

The San Francisco Bay Trail is quite underwhelming, especially when compared to the stunning trails of Cupertino, Saratoga, and Los Altos. While it offers expansive bay views, the scenery feels monotonous, lacking the lush greenery and elevation changes that make other trails more enjoyable. A major downside is that parts of the trail are built over a landfill, and every so often, a foul stench fills the air—an experience unpleasant enough to make me want to turn back. I really wish I didn’t come here, as I got bitten by mosquitoes or some type of bug (I think “no-see-ums”) all over both of my legs and it’s been so uncomfortable and painful this past week :( If you come here I recommend to put on insect repellent and wear long pants… views are pretty but unfortunately there were so many bugs I just couldn’t enjoy. Bay Trail is a very long one cross many cities. This portion is at Sunnyvale. The hill is formerly a garbage dump. The city restored it to be part of the trail. The view on top is great.
