I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights during a business trip. The main reason I chose the hotel was the Marriott Bonvoy program and the hotel being very modern and new compared to other options around the area.||Overall, it was an excellent stay. The hotel was very modern and quite clean. It was a brand new building and you could feel it at every corner of the hotel. I will definitely visit this hotel when I travel to the area again.||Here are some details on the specifics:||Welcome: The receptionist was very friendly on my arrival and I was checked in very quickly with no wait. The hotel has a car park which you get access from the reception after check-in. Overall, everything seemed nicely planned and it was a great experience. ||The room: The room was quite large and very nicely decorated. It contained all the necessities that I could need. The room had wall to ceiling windows and it was super bright. It felt spacious and comfortable. Even the bathroom was really large and I enjoyed using it. I was a bit concerned before booking the hotel because everyone was complaining about low beds and uncomfortable beds, but I do not agree with these comments at all. The bed was quite comfy and I didnāt find the low beds annoying but it was just a design style. The only area of improvement that I see is the windows could be cleaned from outside more regularly since it was almost not possible to see outside from the dust that accumulated over. ||The hotel: The hotel is brand new and the building the quite white and spacey. The space is quite large and ceilings are so high that it feels like your voice echos in the hotel. It feels clean all over. The hotel offers a small gym and pool shared together with the joining hotel. I would prefer a larger gym but it is not a big deal breaker since it was well equipped. ||Restaurant: I didnāt use the restaurants or have breakfast. However, there is no specific room for breakfasts and I could see people having their breakfasts in the lobby. While I didnāt check the food, it felt a bit weird to look at people eating in the large lobby. ||Location: The hotel area feels safe and it is quite easy to join the highways in your car. The hotel has a separate car park building which you get access during check-in. It was 15$ a night which is reasonably priced (compared to other Marriott Santa Clara hotel in the area), however, I donāt understand why these hotels with lots of car park space has to charge for parking. If there was an equivalent hotel with free car park, it would be a deal breaker for me. ||Overall: It was a comfortable stay in a nice safe location. I loved how fresh and modern the hotel building was. The gym and the pool was a bit small but I would prefer the large rooms of this hotel rather than a larger gym any day. I truly will consider visiting this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI stayed in this hotel for a week while on a business trip. I am very torn on giving this hotel a 2 star because it was very close to work and I go there frequently and need a good hotel to stay.
Pros: New facilities, everything was quite new and pretty nice. The rooms are pretty spacious and has most of the essentials you need Food at the restaurant was pretty good, I loved the decor Super close to my work; was literally a 10 min walk and was fantastic to not have to uber in the morning to get to work front desk + eng(who tried to fix my lights) were nice
Cons Because it is new and green, some of the technology seems to be a bit finicky. The room's lights have motion sensors. One night I was sleeping, and the light came on in the middle of the night even though I was alone. Unless it was a ghost which triggered it, it seemed to have malfunctioned. If I am sitting on the bed, the light automatically shuts down after 20 min, which is fine, but then I cannot turn on the lights unless I stand up and walk around. Simply waving my arms and clicking the power button does not bring the light back. They attempted to fix this, and I think they just disabled the motion sensors.
I accidentally left my charging cords plugged in by the bedside table when I checked out(Friday), and called the hotel the next day(Saturday Morning) after realizing it because I was still in town and would be able to pick it up. I was told to file a report via ileftmystuff and the house cleaning person will check and let me know. I received an email shortly that day saying no item was found. Fast forward a week, I receive another email saying they were able to locate my item but it would've costed $60 for them to ship it back to me(because I am in Canada). I am not sure how they were not able to find the plugged in item the day of, and then miraculously finds it 6 days later?
housekeeping were inconsistent. I did say that I don't need housekeeping everyday to be environmentally conscious, and they can do a clean on Wed given I check out Friday. However they came to do housekeeping the first 3 days and then stopped the rest of the week. Also I asked for makeup remover initially, was told they don't have it, but then a single makeup removing wipe miraculously appeared on the 3rd day. I am not too bothered by them not cleaning, but thought it was...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreReview: I was having car issues, so I called the hotel to tell them I may not be able to check in that night. I was told it was not a problem. I asked that my room not be given away because I had already paid for it. I was told they would not book my room with another guest. When I finally arrived for check in, my room was not available. They gave it away, despite telling me this would not happen. I had asked for specific things for my room (not near an elevator, not near ice machine, corner room, microwave, and extra blanket). None of these were provided, despite me calling twice and being told it was "no problem." When I checked in, they didn't even have my name on the list of reservations. When I complained about this, I was met with a very rude attitude. The person seemed inconvenienced by me trying to sort this error out. They spoke to me in a rude, curt and inconvenienced tone, which was not appreciated. I then spoke with another person, who kept putting me on hold without telling me she was doing so. It kept sounding like I was being hung up on. I had 5 different bags when I checked in, and I was never offered a bellhop to help me transport the bags to my room. My room had issues. The sink in the bathroom was totally clogged. The light fixtures and panel in the main room didn't work. I wasn't provided a microwave or extra blanket as I requested. The room had very little soundproofing. You could hear guests in adjacent rooms, every time a door shut, or people come off elevator. There was also a loud "thump" that went off every 15 minutes or so which kept me up. I'm lucky if I got 4 hours of sleep, which was not good since i had a 15 hour workday ahead of me. As I was leaving for my workday at 7am and getting into a Lyft, I noticed my car, which had been given to valet when I checked in, was actually parked outside of the hotel. Totally puzzled by this, I had to call the front desk from my Lyft. I was asked if I would "call back in 15 minutes". I refused to call back and told them they needed to figure out why my car was not in the valet area, and to move it back there ASAP. When I finally checked out and collected my car from the valet, the seat settings were all changed. Why would they change all the settings when they are in my car 1-2 minutes to drop it in the valet lot? Did they go joyriding in my car...
