Dauer Museum of Classic Cars — Attraction in Sunrise

In the area with some time to kill, I surprised the wife with a trip back in time to see the cars of yesteryear. I didn't expect much elation from her since she is in no way an antique car buff. She does, however, like spur-of-the-moment surprises, so she was all in.

To my delightful surprise, we were both blown away by our trip to the Dauer Car Museum. If this had been our first date, it would have been "10"!

I have never seen so many gorgeous cars and so much spotless chrome. Most cars have been restored to mint condition with original paint colors and stunning upholstery styles. Many of these cars are beautifully unique and were design marvels of their day. The sheer size and radical body types of the older cars are breathtaking.

The rest of the vehicles actually ARE in original mint condition, as if they were still on the showroom floor waiting for purchase from days gone by.

As much as I enjoyed the cars, I was having a blast watching my wife experience the emotional rollercoaster of reliving and remembering her family history on wheels. We had so much fun!

The museum also has many period pieces and antiques strategically placed on the floor. The display rooms were decorated attractively to match the period of the cars parked nearby.

Now about cleanliness. This museum is spotless. The cars are immaculate, and the floors are pristine. With that said, special attention needs to made to the women's bathroom.

Yes, everybody was talking about the women's restroom! "Definitely a cut above the rest." Also spotless, it's apparent that much thought was put into the design of the lady's restroom, adding to the comfort of their female guests. My wife couldn't stop talking about it. As minor of a point for most men, this was a significant point with the wife, really enhancing her overall customer experience.

All of the employees were very knowledgeable about the cars and the antiques. They were very friendly and available to answer questions and offer insider insights.

We also had the pleasure of meeting the owners, Doctors Eddie, and Joanne Dauer. Lovely people who take great pleasure in sharing their hobby and passion with the community.

In short, this is a "must do" worthwhile event if you have some time to spare during the week. After all, how many times can you take the guests to see the alligators? We will do it again and again with our...

The Dauer's are an amazing family and their collection of cars is superb. 🤯I had the most incredible day at the museum and was treated to an amazing VIP tour by Eric Dauer.

Eric was so generous in the tour with my many questions and shared so many amazing stories of the cars and interesting facts most people would not know about these cars. He shared his passion and family stories that made him my favorite guide ever🙂 As a car nut, I learned so much about the Cadillacs and other amazing cars that I never knew 💫💯

Later his father Dr. Edward Dauer greeted me and shared so many of the other museum's amazing collection like the television and broadcasting systems and the first electrical cash register. Additionally, so many of these cars have incredible personal stories and family sentiment shared in the tour stories.

Finally, Eric's mom and Dr. Dauer's wife, Dr. Joanne Dauer arrived with one of their grandkids and she was equally lovely and kind. I was amazed by how passionate she is about cars and the family collection. Her influence in creating the vignettes for the collection and input on complimentary museum artifacts was shared. Additionally, her first car is there and other family cars that have been gifted by her husband to her on special occasions like anniversaries and Valentine's Day.💖

The Dauer's have authored several books on cars and other passions, I am so enjoying the 2 books that I purchased and recommend you get them to enjoy after you visit.

I could keep going on about the incredible cars and the family's amazing passion for them and generosity for sharing them with the public. Hands down my favorite museum experience EVER!! 😎

If you love cars this is the place to go. It's a wonderful day trip from Naples and is very close to Sawgrass Mill mall. Hotels, food and is weekend trip or over and back.
