A treasure! What a wonderful resource for our community. I was warmly welcomed on a Wednesday afternoon and provided with a fascinating introduction to the museum, its mission and vision, and its collections. I learned a lot and departed with much to think about and some good starting points for further reading, research, and reflection. One thing I appreciate is the emphasis on art and literature; every room boasts framed prints and paintings related to the exhibit, and I think that art provides context and connections for the exhibits. Sounds like they offer some really cool summer learning opportunities for youth (ages 14-16 IIRC) and are enthusiastic about partnering with schools to help broaden and deepen students’ understanding of history.
