I was shopping in Acme Fresh Market on July 17, 2019 around 745 p. it was a normal shopping experience until I slipped in the dairy section! To this day NOT ONE person from the store, not the Store Director, Henry Johnson Jr, not the manager Phil Hostetler, nor anyone from the Albrecht Company has called to make sure I was okay. The reason I slipped and fell was because water was draining from under the dairy case, and it had overflowed onto the sales floor causing large puddles on the floor with only 1 "wet floor" sign present. I saw the sign sitting near the dairy case but not the puddles that had flowed out into almost the entire aisle, I had no chance of seeing the puddles. There was no lasting injuries other than a sore knee, elbow, wet pants and purse, and embarrassment! However, I could have been severely injured due to their lack of maintaining a safe shopping environment and their failure to make much needed repairs. They were experiencing problems with water drainage and it had leaked out onto the floor in several areas throughout the store. Several workers verbally stated that the water had been draining and maintenance had been called SEVERAL times over SEVERAL days but they had not come out to repair this potentially disastrous problem which caused me to slip and fall. In fact, in the report the manager replied when asked "was the location clean", he replied NO! when asked "if there were any foreign substances or obstructions", he replied YES, water and only 1 floor sign! I would advice both shoppers and management to be careful when visiting Acme #11 on South Avenue in Tallmadge...SHOPPERS, be careful that you don't slip and fall due to their negligence and MANAGERS and ALBRECHT be careful that you don't get sued for negligence. I have not been shopping at Acme since this incident and don't plan to again. Really Acme, all it takes is a simple phone call...just to make sure a customer who fell in your store due to your failure to use reasonable care that resulted in damage and injury to another person! It's called...
Read moreI have been going to acme for well over 30 years in Tallmadge. Back when it was where planet fitness is now. It is with a very sad heart to say this store has declined in so many aspects over the years and continues to get worse. I ordered a 12 pc with Jo Jos last week and it was terrible! The chicken tasted like it was cooked hours ago and the Mac & Cheese had a burnt taste to it. Waste of over 30.00. But hey.. can’t be perfect everyday so I went back on Sunday to try again because when their chicken and Mac is fresh, it’s delicious. I go to the counter and ordered a 12 pc with Jo Jo’s and Mac & Cheese again. Guy say they didn’t have enough and that it would be about 12 minutes. I said cool, I have some things to pickup and I will be back. 20 minutes later I come back and no chicken. His response to me.. sorry, we got busy and he didn’t have time to put it in but if I wanted to wait, it would be 18 minutes.. ????? What happened to 12 minutes? I said no thanks and went to Leonardo’s. So, just 20 minutes ago. I call the store to again order a 12 pc with Jo Jo and Mac & cheese for pickup at 5:30 so it would be fresh.. girls tells me the are out of chicken. What? Out of chicken? Okay, at this point I’m not to happy. I still keep my calm because being an idiot does nothing. I call the store and talk to the manager named Trevor.. tell him my past 3 experiences the past week and the most recent one about 5 minutes from the time I called him. He tells me they are not out of chicken! They just don’t have the people to work back in that department and quite honestly acted like my past experiences were no big deal! He clearly has no busy being a manager dealing with people. I still kept my calm. Because after all.. Acme is the one that’s losing a customer! Pathetic! The sad thing is my sister in law works there!...
