Tamarac Veteran’s Park is a serene and contemplative environment where one can stroll, bike, picnic and remember all who serve and served our country. I particularly like the Memorial sculpture, banners of appreciation flying from lampposts and the flag drop box so those of us who need to retire our old flags can do so properly. On Sundays you will find a small, creative Farmer’s Market which features artisanal products, fruit and vegetables, orchids, jewelry, honey, BBQ, ceviche, and even cotton plants! Di Augusto Mercato Italiano has a beautiful booth with the most delicious first cold-pressed olive oils and balsamic vinegars. I purchased the basil oil and fig balsamic glaze. Unbelievably fresh and tasty! We enjoyed a ceviche in the picnic area along the water. Check it out if you are visiting, as locals like me love this park. You will too! Free parking, but come early so you can visit all the vendors. To our Veterans and Active Duty Military, thank you for...
Read moreThis park is so beautiful and touching. Some vets really dont know how to accept 'thank you's'.. I struggle with being thanked for just doing what I wanted to do. It was my privilege and honor to serve. This park made me that much prouder that I did. Thats how the park made me feel anyway. One heck of a feeling! Thank you very much for this serene space. The water doesnt smell. There is virtually no trash. The pavement is spotless. Not even chewed gum. Meaning even the residents care at least a little about helping to keep it clean. Theres picturesque homes in the background. A dog park. A collection of cute dogs... playing! How awesome! I love dogs! The trail is endless. Its a perfect distance to feel far but not far, if that makes sense. There's a burrowing owls nest right now. I love nature! I felt so calm. Despite 2pm traffic on University! This place is awesome. Thank you so much.💛 Danyale L....

The best bicycle path for a family would be from the edge of the Everglades at Tamarac along Southgate road to University road and from University Road...
