Davis Islands Park — Attraction in Tampa

Park is not busy in the morning, the basketball court is nice and the south hoop/net has been replaced with a new net. The baseball field is nice and well kept, there seems to be some batting or pitching cages next to the basketball court. There are lights for both the court and the baseball field so I can imagine that there are games going on at night. The playground is nice and well kept for the kids to do their thing. It is pretty sad that the Coast Guard takes up all the parking spaces so you’ll have to park in the street. Restrooms are clean, and they do have one handicap parking spot and one golf cart...

Davis Island Park I have mixed emotions where the fact that it's a nice place to go there so much vandalism on Davis island. On the beach area you got the younger crowd to come in and just trash the place it makes no sense to me at all and then you have off of channel drive you have the older crowd that just goes and trash it especially on events like gasparilla coming up or any nice day these places get really trashed and I think they can be better if authorities get into it more and just make sure that people respect the places that they are everybody work together to keep these places...

I went here to reminisce and boy was it a shock. I used to come here for summer camp back in the 90’s lol my mom worked down the street and would drop me off here. It has changed so much. The ball fields have always been there but there used to be a big open field and a pavilion we would sit under to eat lunch. Sometimes we would walk to the public pool just down the street and we’d walk to the best pizza place around the corner(don’t remember the name but I think it’s gone).
