Nice place to take the kids for sure. They have a playground which is right near the beach. Everything is close to each other. The bathrooms are clean. They have picnic tables near the beach and in the wooded areas. There are charcoal grills or you can bring your own. It's 8 dollars to park. You have to use a card to pay to park. The machine doesn't take money. Bring swim shoes the beach is very rocky. Park rangers are nice and friendly. There isn't a life guard on site. There are fishing spots off to the sides of the swimming beach. You can also bring your canoe and paddle boats. I'm not sure about motorized boats. Definitely a nice alternative to the beach on days that cooler near the ocean, but warm inland and its close to home. Only thing missing in my opinion is a ice cream shack. LOL

Watson Pond State Park in Taunton is a peaceful spot to enjoy a variety of outdoor activities! Perfect for families, there is a playground and an area for swimming. Great for outdoor enthusiasts- they offer grills to make a barbecue, you can go fishing or kayaking, or take your dog for a quiet walk in the woods. Whatever outdoor activity you enjoy, Watson Pond State Park is the best spot in Taunton!! However, please be advised that they charge an $8 parking fee for MA residents or $20 for non-MA residents…that is the only downside. Otherwise, it was a perfect family day! Clean facilities. If you are looking for camping, please check out in Massasoit State Park, Taunton

We attended a memorial remembrance fo a relative. It was a beautiful day . If you are handicapped you don't have to pay for parking, otherwise there is a parking meter to use. Our get together was in the stone pavilion which was a great size with a roof and pretty view of the water and trees. However, if handicapped, it was a long bumpy walk whether it was across a grassy field or stony walkway. We brought our service dog without a hitch from anyone or at least one other dog. Plenty of room for kids to play, even playing ball. There was a ranger available , if needed. Very pleasant day!

I love this pond me and my daughter go all the time w a friend and her daughter it’s great the water is so warm Nd not grimy w seaweed tickling ur legs every other second(yuck) sand is soft, they have grills there that u can cook on u just need to bring ur own charcoal Nd fluid to start the grill up they’re built into the ground on posts pretty cool I’ve never seen them anywhere before and they have a huge new playground for the kids to play in that’s really nice, they also have bathrooms like a (real) bathroom no porter potty(yuck) but make sure if you park in the parking lot you move your car outta there by 6 cause that’s when they lock tha gates Nd your car will be locked in till the next day so u better make sure to move it to the side of the st before they lock those gates cause we almost got locked in we got lucky Nd the range was still there to open the gate, but all around fun time, a must check it out oh forgot they have lots of picnic tables Nd a deck s tables off to the left you can look out to the other side of the pond from there. Hope you check it out you’ll have a blast and your kids will be begging...

I’m a little confused about Watson State Park. It seems like they were charging for parking- which they absolutely should not because it is not a very extensive park- but may have stopped charging last summer? I’m waiting to see this summer whether or or they charge for parking. It seems like the primary thing to do at the park is be on the water, which I’ve never done, so his review can’t really speak to that. However, I have tried to walk my dogs there and I couldn’t really find a path, so we just ended up walking along the grounds next to the water. I love close by and have hear rumors that there was a path that went all the way around the pond. I went to explore this one day while walking in the industrial park behind Watson Pond. On the other side of the pond there was definitely a grown over trail that I vote we start using to make it fresh again! The park would be a million times better if that trail was usable. All that said it is a nice...

It's a really nice place to bring the kids, it has a great playground, plenty of grassy field and fresh water beach for the kids to play and run or swim and splash, maybe even relax fishing... parking is tough at times when open but there's no legal parking when closed but I've never seen anyone get ticketed or towed, everyone usually parks half on the shoulder and half on the walkway... I'm sure the police understand... I illegally park there at times so the kids can play and never recieved a ticket yet(hah) but overall it's not bad, it's a state run park so it's pretty clean, up to date, they have a restroom but its seasonal during operational hours only... there's a great big gazebo down by the water that can be used for picnics, photos, or hanging out under while listening to and watching the rain fall. Its 5 star worthy but parking...
