My wife & I have lived in Temecula for 11 years & we never knew about this winery. We decided we wanted to explore a smaller not so well know winery to try something new & let me tell you we were extremely impressed when we found this hidden gem. You have to make an appointment because of its smaller size & limited hours. This is NOT a place for a party van or tour bus location!
When we arrived we were greeted by an older lady name Peggy who was extremely sweet & informed us that as an Estate winery all grapes were grown & harvested on property. The difference shows in the taste without a doubt!
Our server happened to be by one of the owners Dorian K. who purchased the property from the original owner/imagineer. She was friendly, welcoming, knowledgeable about the Temecula wine country and it’s history & had a “salt of the Earth” personality!
The property has that outdoor romantic, private, family owned feel with beautiful trees, a nice view of Calloway & surrounding vineyards with the amazing feel of the “Snow White” cottage in Disneyland it was designed to replicate. Check out the history of Briar Rose for the details on the original owner/ imagineer, family history, etc..
To give a bit of background about us, my wife is an experienced wine taster, not an expert however very knowledgeable in types/notes/smells, etc…, she has tasted at all the well known wineries throughout Temecula as well as Paso Robles & Napa with her favorite types being red blends. I on the other hand was never into wine tasting & only went to spend time with my wife but found enjoyment in sweet options like Moscato/Muscat Canelli.
Now that you know our background it might help if you have similar tastes in this review going forward. My wife tried the “Reds” tasting absolutely loved the Temecula Two & the Estate Cabernet Souvignon while I really enjoyed a glass of the Muscat Canelli.
If you are looking for something off the beaten path, without the noise & crowds, a shaded, cooler area to enjoy your wine tasting experience with an amazing breeze, a friendly, knowledgeable staff & relaxing atmosphere then this is definitely worth your time! We absolutely loved our visit here & will...
Read moreWords cannot describe how happy I am that chose this venue for my big special wedding day!!! My coordinator/manager of this venue, Cecily, and her team went over and beyond for our wedding and nothing could have been more perfect. Everything ran exactly as planned and from the amazing exquisite decor, the unbelievably put together fabulous charcuterie board for cocktail hour, and to all time and effort her and her team put into organizing this wedding was incredible!! I used her references for photography and catering and they both delivered perfectly!! People were so happy and had a GREAT time! They were amazed by the beauty of how well everything was decorated to how beautiful the venue was itself, loved every bite of all the food we had at this wedding, and it was just the perfect day. I honestly could not have had a better wedding and it’s all thanks to this amazing venue, the owner, Cecily, her team, and all the vendors who went beyond 5 stars to make our dream come true!! Also would like to note how Cecily was there for me every step of the way in planning this wedding, and she was even understanding and patient with me with some payments that were due bc some of the family issues during our journey leading up to our big day. At the end of it all, everything that happened ended up bringing all family and friends closer and I owe Cecily a huge thanks for always being there for me whenever I needed her. We love them all so much for what they’ve done for us and cannot thank them enough. I highly recommend this venue for weddings especially if you work with Cecily and her team! Also, the winery itself is a gorgeous setting with a great variety of delicious high quality wines. Amazing, amazing…AMAZING! I wish I could give them more stars if I could!! Thank you...
Read moreMy daughter got married here just a few days ago and after the whole experience, I had to leave a review. Just to start off I’ve never left a review. Let alone a horrible review for any business establishment. But I feel that it was very important for the owners to know how terrible their employees and vendors were to our family During a beautiful brides wedding day. Again to the owners, the establishment, the winery, absolutely stunning. But the vendors, the coordinator and the Food vendor Were absolutely horrible To our family. I had multiple family members complain about the head of food vendor not sure what her title was at scolding and yelling at her Coworkers/team In front of everyone as well as some of our family members for grabbing the wrong plate. The coordinator Grabbing glasses out of our families, hands while drinking from them. And so much more. I wanted to just share a few of the horrible experiences that we’ve had so that they can learn from and understand that they were hired by my daughter to serve our guests with respect not make them feel uncomfortable and unwanted. It’s sad to say that the bad out weighs the good especially at the severity of the outburst from the staff and coordinator. Again this review is to the owner I feel it’s beyond important that she reviews the team that is running this beautiful establishment, and how they tired to ruined such an important day for our family. Again it’s just simple courtesy and costumer service that I feel this place...
