We love this place. The atmosphere is so relaxed. Many Friday nights they have live music and / or karaoke. Don't expect a snobby server to pester you. This is get a pour from the bar... sit there and chat or go sit and enjoy or throw axes, or see the bee wall, or visit the chickens... and go back for another pour. Their tastings are 8 pours, and for members 'that's just a speed bump'.
If you want the history or a tour, you can ask, but they are not going to 'educate' you if you just want to enjoy your wine.
This is more like visiting your friend and just enjoying the afternoon/evening in their backyard.
It's such a refreshing break from all the other wineries that tell you every detail that you instantly forget what town your grapes were grown in and if there are seashells in the soil and it was aged in oak for this long and a steal mettal that for so long...
Nope, just a nice day and nice wine here...
If that matters to you, you can ask. Otherwise, you will most likey just know this is a mix of these grapes and...
Read moreWe stumbled upon this winery after spotting it on Groupon, and it turned out to be one of the best surprises of our trip. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Randy, who guided us through a fantastic tasting. He was incredibly knowledgeable, so funny, and truly warm-hearted — he made the entire experience very unique.
We also luckily got to meet Mike, the owner, who took the time to walk us through the winery and explain his winemaking process. His knowledge and insight added so much to our visit.
If you’re in the area, this is a stop you absolutely shouldn’t miss. The wines are excellent, the people are even better, and the whole experience felt special, personal and authentic. We’re already looking forward to coming back and will definitely be recommending this place to friends.
Thank you again for the warm hospitality and all the inspiring wine wisdom — we...
Read moreI booked my first stay with Dark Star Cellars through Harvest Hosts and this was my first time. I dont remember the guys name who I booked with but he was kind to give me information on when to arrive and the hours of operation. Once arriving we were automatically greeted by Adrienn with her cute little baby in the parking lot. She showed us where to park and we had a wonderful parking space in front of storage. We parked and headed into the winery and was greeted by Adrienn again and her cute little baby!!!! She was very generous and knew a lot about wines. We picked Chain Reaction which is a red wine, sort of sweet and dry. Wonderful tasting wine, I must say! If you want a quiet and small winery, this one is for you. Thanks...
