Four Lanterns Winery — Attraction in Templeton

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Four Lanterns Winery with my mom, who is a wine club member and was excited to share this experience with us. We arrived just before a scheduled event and were informed that tastings were no longer available. However, after explaining our situation and requesting a quick tasting before the event began, the staff went above and beyond to accommodate us.

Jackie was incredibly friendly and made an exception for us, allowing us to enjoy a brief tasting. Her willingness to go the extra mile made us feel genuinely cared for, and it turned what could have been a disappointing visit into a memorable experience.

We found this winery impromptu while passing through Paso Robles on the way to Hearst Castle. We were looking for a laid back atmosphere where our toddler would be welcome, and Four Lanterns exceeded our expectations in that regard. They have a nice open outdoor area with plenty space to spread out (and sequester a roaming youngin). Their staff is exceptionally friendly and welcoming. Rita was very knowledgeable about their wine offerings and shared personalized recommendations. The owner, Steve, personally visited our table to check in and was so kind to share his story and knowledge and made the experience quite memorable. I have enjoying Four Lanterns winery fine wines for years. My last visit was in August 2020, in the middle of a heat wave and Covid-19 nightmare. I was celebrating my 45th birthday and my 8-year wedding anniversary that day. I didn't know what to expect, due to the Covid-19 concerns and the heat wave. Many wineries just canceled their afternoon appointments, due to the heat wave that day. I had, one of the few afternoon reservations that day.
