This place is pretty impressive. One wouldn't know the fort was deactivated in 1946, most of the buildings are in good shape and were well maintained. The museum is very interesting too, lots of facts about the Lipan Indians and the black Seminoles who were guarding the frontier in the 1870s. This fort was used for German POWs during WWII and there is a painting left from Sebastian Kantner, an Afrika-Korps soldier who was a prisoner there.

The cost is two dollars per person. You can pay in cash or download a code on the left side of the donation box checkout. A cowboy greeted us and gave us a very detailed explanation of the museum. We loved the attention and the time he spent with us. If you're passing through Brackettville you should definitely visit the museum.

This please sucks! I went there to enjoy an afternoon of hiking on a Friday upon entering the first security guard was very helpful. I told him what I wanted to do. He said OK for some reason he went back into the guard station and then a female came out and she told me that I would need to be invited by a member and that I need to turn around and leave. So with no arguments I did just that therefore this place SUCKS! Go there at your own risk especially if you are an AA. If there is a reasonable explanation why someone can get turned away I would like for the park to respond to my post because low key I felt like I was discriminated against. I won’t make that accusation because maybe there is a reasonable explanation why someone would...

What a wonderful experience we had at Ft. Clark Springs. The grand kids enjoyed the pool. We enjoyed the trails and the room was very clean. The front office experience went very smooth. Lori Sanchez made the check in and check out very easy. Her professionalism and positive attitude was superior. She took the time to answer all my questions concerning the places of interest to be seen. She went out of her way to make sure our stay was pleasant and comfortable. I travel many times due to my consulting business and I have to say my front office experience was one of the best due to Lori’s efforts. Definitely...
