The Pizza Outpost — Restaurant in Brackettville

This charming little outpost delivers legit New York "style" hand-tossed pizza. The ingredients are fresh, and it's surprising to find pizza this good, far off the beaten path. Veronica is always on point, so much so that it borders on predictive mind reading!

Also, to those who will argue that it's not a New York pizza... it's not. You're in a tiny dusty town in a sparsely populated county, far from civilization. There is only one gas station in town! Outpost is a good name for just that reason. If you can't comprehend what that means, please feel free to compare it to other places as you travel west on Hwy. 90 all the way to El Paso.

I look forward to coming here every time I'm in town... and if I'm passing through, I call an order in advance to pickup. Side note: Did I mention they have gluten-free crusts! If you know the area, you know that's uncommon. Highly...

I came in because the advertisement said New York style pizza... I was very happy to see this style pizza and the fact that it taste absolutely fabulous all the way down to the last crumb on the edge of the pizza. I liked it so much I actually came back a second night which I rarely do for any restaurant much less Pizza... The first night which I took pictures was meat lovers and cheese pizza.... And I believe I actually liked the cheese pizza better. Tonight I came back and got a specialty pizza which had cherry tomato halves white sauce some greens, chicken and I really really liked it so much that I got two pieces. Sorry I didn't take any pictures tonight. I also got a dessert called espresso tiramisi... So I doubt I'll be back at this location this week but I am sure in the future I will return when I am in brackettville Texas. By the way the business is for sale so hopefully someone buys it and doesn't...

Review for The Pizza Outpost Brackettville....Buy a slice and try it before you buy a whole pizza. This is a difficult review to write because there are not many places to eat in this town so when someone opens one up and has great hours they deserve 5 stars for that especially in the middle of nowhere like here. Great little place in a great location. Store and presentation are great. Prices are good and there's a salad bar. I did not try the salad bar. The only reason I am giving 3 stars is because the main ingredient on the pizza is the cheese and it tasted a little like plastic. There were also a lot of cans in the kitchen. The crust was pretty good. I don't know how much of the ingredients were fresh. Very convenient though. Probably one of the best places to eat in the whole town though. If this review was based entirely on pizza quality then it would be one...
