Longtime residents stated that Lake Woodlands is known for Bass, Catfish, Crappie and Perch, just need to figure out or know what type of bait or fishing lure to use. Or which spot you favor over the Inlets, Panther Creek (runs under Research bridge) or Spillway near Woodlands Parkway.
Friendly reminder whenever you're out boating/kayaking don't throw your trash (beer/coke/water bottles/cans in the water)! Remember to leave no trace while enjoying a day on the water with family and friends 😊.
Building a venue of some sort across the way from the park area and rowing club. The Woodlands Township Committee Group needs to build another boat ramp for the fisherman, kayakers, and paddle boarders to enjoy a weekend on the Lake. Without interfering with planned events at North Shore with limited parking area (cars and pickups with boat and kayak trailers).
Pretty soon this area will not be a fishing, kayakers paradise or wild life sanctuary for sight seeing with all the buildings being built!
Lots of places to jog, ride a bike or walk your dog on the surrounding trails that wind around North and South Shore Park.
I enjoy kayaking in this area because I'm able to see the Blue Heron, Canadian/Peeking Geese, Great Egret, Ibis, Brown/White Pelicans, Ring-billed Gull and Sandpipers who frequent the Lake shores along the way to the Dragon 🐲 at...

Read moreBoy, this is a great park! And the neighborhood certainly knows it! At around 4p on a Saturday, this place was absolutely mobbed. But my little boy still had a great time, so that's all that matters, right?
I think his favorite part was feeding the ducks and pigeons at the lake (even though there's a sign not to do so, EVERYONE is doing it. Someone gave us their left-over bread). And don't worry about that lake - there's a gate surround the playground so your little ones aren't likely to make a fast escape to the water.
I love that they have those swings that are meant for parent and child - an adult swing on one side and a supportive swing for baby that move together. But on a busy day, expect a wait as there are only two of these.
I think hubby was most impressed with the "elevator" for the kids. There's a pole with a small platform to stand on that they can ride from the second level back down to the ground. You can't ride it back up, but when it's empty it moves back up on it's own for the next child.
There's a section that I think is meant for slightly older kids. It looked like an awesome spider web/ropes course. If I weren't huge and pregnant, I would've been trying it...
