treated a friend's kid to a Marvel movie on 4-2-21. supposedly this theater just reopened after remodeling but we did not see any change to the theater rooms themselves or the lobby, i'm guessing the remodel was just them switching their point of sale service provider to "toast", which meant you had to use your cell phone to access their menu either by scanning in a qr code or, if you don't have a qr code scanning app installed on your phone, a web address hosted by "toast" is provided to give you access to the menu. the seats are the same but becareful how you move them, they topple quite easily, i've seen it happen and it has happened to me twice so far that's why i include this caution. i was going to have a fountain drink with my meal but i didn't see an option to order it without ice and i can't justify paying a premium price for anything non alcoholic that is half ice so i settled for a coffee which was not served hot, i expected it to be hot that's why i ordered it because i knew the theater would be cold. mentioned it to my waiter when he brought our meals but he never came back with a hot one. i actually loved the fries and enjoyed the chicken tenders but i was disappointed again by their 4 scoop sundae as it was cloaked by a mass of whipped cream and served in a discouragingly small bowl so i suspect the scoop that was used was actually a melon baller. i did not detect any actual scoops under the whipped cream and the toppings easily overwhelmed the miniscule serving of confectioned dairy. next time i will make an unconcerned effort to take lit pics of the food product served at this venue. i almost decided on the $9.99 10" pizza 'til i saw that the toppings were priced a la carte and would've easily added another 50% to the price, shaved steak topping was $3.49. no shakes on the menu but you could order a rootbeer float, my friend's son even thought the price of the chocolate milk was rediculous, same price as a shake at a convenience store. he only ordered it because there were no shakes on the menu as there had been in the past.
i feel sorry for the people who work in the retail industry having to deal corporate decisions that impact their check and their work space.
the decision to stay with these service providers is risky and exhausting as the wording used in the contracts is intently encouraging and can easily be just as deceiving and in the end dishonest because the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhen I was a kid this place was called Chunkys, so it was exciting to revisit the updated version if you will. This time though instead of a movie we attended a live comedy show with 4 stand ups and it was phenomenal; the performers exceeded my expectations. You grab menus before you walk in at the desk, and when you're settled & ready to order they have you stand your menus up so they know you're ready to order (which I think is a great system). The seats are incredibly comfortable (the arms come up out of the way if you'd like) there's plenty of space between you & others sitting at the tables- (which are dressed with napkins & basic toppings (salt/pepper/ketchup). You've just got to be mindful of one another between seats/aisles. The wait staff were all very friendly, helpful, efficient and informative. I didn't get an alcoholic beverage though they all looked quite scrumptious. The food itself I would compare to your local pizza/American stop, and they actually had a wider selection that I expected. I will say also, it was quite warm in the room so definitely be able to shed a layer (perhaps you'll have to add one in the summer). Anyhow! The place is huge. Modern arcade- reloadable game cards (good for 10 years how neat), air hockey table, VR games- what I would call in real life phone games- you get it. Claw machines, skee ball, etc etc. Steven (or Stephen) was a great guide in general and for what games are big "ticket" winners; he was incredibly helpful and friendly- not at all afraid to jump I'm and assist by giving the full run down of the arcade itself and the specials Smittys runs. There's bathrooms located at the end of the theater and down in the bar area aswell, with plentiful stalls. Axe throwing looked like a good time, sprinkled with high tops and chairs/couches located behind the throwing bit of the axes, luckily not in front c; . There was some sort of digital/projection on the boards that added another modern aesthetic as well. The bar is plenty big enough with varietal seating, and a seemingly large menu too. I do think though that they should squeeze in one of those large perhaps stand up photo booths! As someone who doesn't take out their phone much when enjoying time with friends, I think it would be a great way for people to take home yet another souvenir- though the prize selection is incredible for the arcade. Regardless, it was a great time & I'd...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am an Employee at Smittyās Cinema in Tilton, NH The Managers and co-workers all treat each other equally, it is a family oriented vibe and we all help each other to make the best experience possible for you (the customers). Many Many people assume things without asking us or more specifically the managers, because people can easily misunderstand the way you say something or do something, it would be amazing for both if you have a question or complaint, even if you are just curious about something being a problem or anything along the lines of that, simply ask, its as easy as that, it does not make it easier or give you a better experience if anyone yells, curses, or insults us because of something that could not have even been our fault āDonāt Kill the Messenger.ā I like when I get the opportunity to talk to customers, especially when they are understanding, and it makes us want to make sure we are treating them with the same kindness they show us, it is so basic that with any customer service, or anything like that you should always use the Golden Rule āTreat others the way you want to be treatedā being yelled at is exhausting, depressing, and its hard to fake a smile to someone who is being very mean to you. And I saw one comment that said something along the lines of good thing I am an honest person because no one was up front so if I wanted to I couldve stolen a bunch of stuff up there, etc. etc. but you shouldnt just assume that or anything about how all the operation works unless you have worked there specifically, because Ticket people need breaks, I should know because I am one of them, Sam/Samuel. We do keep an eye on it, we have Cameras, Servers, and lots of staff all around the building at all times so that nothing like that happens. And as a side note for just me as a person I think that that is a rather conceited thing to say about yourself, if you had a concern about that a simple call to the manager line or asking of one of the servers would be fantastic, but making sure everyone knows that you are an honest person and you couldve stolen everything isnt a good argument in my opinion. My whole point was, there is nothing wrong with questions, there is no stupid or dumb question, even if it seems weird, just ask, we all have no problem with thatš Thank you everyone who is reading this for your time, and...
