Hannaford — Local services in Franklin

I’m a frequent shopper at this Hannaford location due to its location and over the winter I’ve done a lot of my shopping using the Hannaford To Go app. For me it’s easy and with a husband who has difficulty walking it safer. I’ve used this app many times as I’ve said and the store shoppers have always done an excellent job of fulfilling my order, until this week. I ordered a family pack of chicken for pick up Monday morning, when unpacking the bag I didn’t look at the meat, instead I just left it in the plastic bag they had delivered it in until I had time this afternoon to break it into smaller portions. I was absolutely disgusted to slid it out of the bag and discover that one piece of chicken was covered in dark red bruising. I brought it back and they gave me double my money back and told me I had to take the chicken with me. There was no apology on their behalf and no talk of making sure nothing like this happens in the future. I was very upset with this behavior and didn’t make it any better by refusing to take the nasty chicken with me. Needless to say I won’t be using this service again...

Waited in the long line at customer service with 14 items or less to get tobacco products. Instead of using the open self check out only lanes. Only to find out they no longer sell any type of tobacco products at all. Even when its marked that they follow all State Alcohol and Tobacco laws & it is posted in that same line under the conveyer belt? So I Searched every place I could see on my way out & Even went back in to check that rout as well. Guess What saw? (Nothing at all.) It must be some type of secret unspoken rule. I COULD NOT FIND ANY OTHER TYPE OF NO TOBACCO PRODUCTS AVAILABLE HERE NOTIFICATION ANYPLACE. You need to have some type of notification posted that Hanaford's no longer sell those type products in that Grocery store. Suggestion box: Add the needed & posted signage Stating that you dont sell them & Try removing the invalid ones that appear...

Hannafords in Franklin is clean, the employees are very helpful and it's open until 10:00 pm - that's the good part. I usually go there when I need a few things quickly however I feel that they nickel & dime you to death! With Market Basket & Wal-Mart within a 5 mile radius, Dollar Tree, Dollar General & Mr G's right around the corner, I feel Hannafords prices are right up there with the gas station stores and mom & pops corner convenience stores. They have some of the same items as Dollar Tree and charge anywhere from 35 cents to a $1:00 more. Sometimes I just can't bring myself to buy some of these items on principle alone. But the saving grace is that they do stay open until 10:00 & maybe this is why they nickel & dime you to death.
