What a way to End '2018' if you're in the Oklahoma area or you take a Trip to Oklahoma be sure to add this to your list of 'Places to Visit' in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. This is a Great place to get the History of the Chickasaw Nation from Past, Present and Future. The Staff is EXCEPTIONALLY GENEROUS and VERY Welcoming. I was reminded that NOT all of Society whom walks amongst us are mean, rude or with an attitude. I felt so at home here, EVERYONE is Friendly and VERY helpful they offer suggestions for other areas to visit, and they will help you with a list of places to grab a bite to eat if you're not familiar with the area. I Enjoyed my time spent here, it was VERY informative and the new remodeled building feels cozy and sleek. The displays and photos were just right for the eye. The artifacts that have been used, loaned or passed down from generations are authentic and priceless. It allows you to get a better understanding of exactly how and what was used back in the day. Governor Bill Anoatubby has really helped shape this Historic Town for ALL the right reasons and I know previous Chickasaw Tribal members would be Proud. The museum gift shop has Souvenirs, Books, Music, and Chickasaw language materials. They also have pottery, Jewelry, Beadwork and artwork by Chickasaw Artists. The talent and time that goes into the items available for purchase are wholeheartedly made with love, precision and quality in mind. The preservation of everything in the Museum is being honored with the upmost Respect and Integrity. I'd Definitely recommend this location to anyone who wants to know the History of the Chickasaw Nation even if you're NOT part of the Tribe or Native American, having the knowledge of what they endured, sacrificed and succeeded in Reclaiming is worth...
