You can get here early and stay late and not spend a dime. One of the few beautiful places left for people without money to burn (like me). Plenty of free parking, this National Park comes to a point with water and beaches all around. Rocks protest the sand about 25 feet from shore, making for calm, shallow waters for children. Lots of verandas, perfect for family picnics. Bathrooms available. Right across the water from Old San Juan. Ancient fort on the premises. Great place.

Came to this location due to its history meaning. This small fort was made just to be able to shoot cannonball at any unwanted ships that try to invade Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 via cross fire. The main big fort is across the bay, as you can see it from this location. This is a nice place for scenic views and great selfies. This area also makes it easy for families to come and do bbq, party events, or just to enjoy a day of fun under the sun. 🌞

I’m going to give this national treasure 5 stars, but shame in NPS for their “care”. I stopped in one afternoon and am appalled at the garbage strewn around the property. One good clean up day every 3 months would keep this lovely place free from the neglect as you would see if you read about its history!

A small fortin comparing to the main one but this is the place I really wanted to see. Though it is small it is a strategic fort to collaborate with the big ones to cross fire at the coming enemies. Something here need to improve is there were a lot of trash everywhere like this place was abandoned.

The fort is somewhat interesting, the beach & picnic areas are okay... But KEEP WALKING past the boat ramp, past the "enter at your own risk" gate, as FAR as you can go. At the point you'll find a (recently) abandoned fishing club and some beautiful, tranquil views that are definitely worth it!
