Savage Arena formally known as Centennial Hall opened in 1976 is another classic Toledo venue which have played host to countless concerts, volleyball, basketball games, ladies, men, high school, and maybe even some championship Jr. High games, commencements and other events. Its seating capacity for basketball is 7,300 and 8,300 for concerts. It's in no way comparable to a large big city venue but it has an intimate setting and not a bad seat in the house, Savage Hall has hosted some big city names. Read moreWe were there today for a Whitmer graduation. The doors were to open @ noon so we got there about 11:20. We didn't do too bad on parking and got into the bldg & up the stairs to wait there to go in. Once the doors opened, it was a mad rush with people jams and no order whatsoever. People had gone in early and put programs over seats (as many as 8-10) "reserved" for family members not there yet--some arriving LATE! Leaving the parking lot was a nightmare! No one directing, and cars just sitting in one place. One car drove over a hill to get out. Very disorganized. That certainly could have been improved...

Lately though they take away bleacher seats (sporadically- not sure what they base decision on when to do it) and set up an area on the floor to sell alcohol. Seems kind of dumb to me when they have so many areas on the main floor where they could block out an area. Then people won't lose the seats they normally sit at and neither...
