Nature's Neighborhood — Attraction in Toledo

We visited on a Monday in mid-April 2025.

We bought some food over in Monarch Market right next door and was hoping to eat here while the kids played a bit but it was completely packed. All the tables were full but a few of the benches in the direct sun were available. We decided to instead take our food to the hippo plaza area.

Overall a great idea and fun addition to the zoo but take that into account with the crowds. The rest of the zoo wasn't crowded at all. I think this was the most crowded we experienced in the zoo all day.

This is a great place for kids to unwind. It has on the outside play tower,petting zoo, water stream in the summer,sand beach, butterfly house,shows in the summer and indoors a playhouse,bee wall to climb on,lots of trees that have so many different things in most of them face painting room a jumping room where you can be on TV seeing you being a star....

The zoo was fantastic but there is absolutely no reason for them to charge $4 for a bottle of water or bottle of pop! Or even $2 for 1 little pouch of Capri Sun fruit drink. I understand they need to make money to take care of the animals but that is some serious...
