Bellwether at Toledo Spirits — Restaurant in Toledo

First off, let me say that I absolutely love this place which is why I decided to book a reservation when I was in town visiting from Pennsylvania. The day of the reservation (for 3), I call to confirm as I know they get busy on Friday nights. The person on the phone said that they weren’t really following reservations (which I found confusing) but my reservation was in the system and they would see me soon. When I arrive on time and check in, I’m told I’ll be put on a waitlist. I said I didn’t think that was fair but was told it would only be about 35 minutes and I could wait at the bar downstairs. My friends join me at around 7p. At 8:20p we’re finally sat. Our dinner reservation was at 9, so we needed to leave by 8:50 so we figured we could still get one quick cocktail. Long story short, they forgot to give us menus which delayed the ordering process and the waitress didn’t come back to take our order until 8:40, so we just left without getting anything. I’ve been to Bellwether twice now - once for a Green Drinks tour/networking event and once on a night out - and both times, I have been so impressed! The staff and bartenders are amazing and truly go out of their way to make it a special experience for you. The cocktails are to die for!! The best I’ve ever had. I tried one of the food items and it was also very tasty. I loved the tour of the distillery and hearing its storied past during prohibition. They use local ingredients, clean distilling methods and reusable straws. This place is really the shining star of Toledo as far as nightlife goes, and I hope everyone will go check it out and enjoy a cocktail...

Very nice unique cocktails….. atmosphere is eclectic. I always gift their alcohol that they distill in house.

12/21/24 You know what would really jingle my bells is if you had more than 1 person working behind the bar and 1 server who is also the hostess. Who is the manager that thought it was a merry and bright idea to schedule this the weekend becore Christmas? 20+ people in the lobby and a private party going on. Time is now 4:28 and nobody has their drinks yet. Service has severely deminished since this places conception. Just give me my f’ing snowman mug so i can cash out...
