This public beach is peaceful and beautiful. The water is affected by the tide. When the tide is out, there is ample exploration space on a sandy/silty beach. Beware the Chinese water chestnuts - wear soles on your feet! Also, when the tide is out, you can sit along the long concrete retaining wall and just look out across the river and take in the breeze! On Sundays between May and August/September, you can watch the Kingston Sailing Club races. There is a nice large pavilion, and if you are a resident of the Town of Esopus, you can rent it out with use of the kitchen. There is a playground for the children.
