New China — Restaurant in Town of Esopus

It was good a year ago, and all up until that point. Around late 2019 the owners changed and it has gone downhill since. The menu is the same and so is the name but everything else changed, and not for the better. The dishes are soggy and mushy and even the chicken dishes known for texture and consistency are now just hunks of fatty meat floating in sauce. It was a good place, sadly not anymore. And the prices have gone up with the new owners ontop of quality going down. Used to be a real genuine cook on the wok before. Not sure who is doing the prep and cooking now but...

I'm not sure how this place was 3 years ago when all the reviews said this place was good but everything I've ordered is awful man. The chicken always tastes funny, the "cream cheese" wantons have some disgusting shrimp paste in them. I've picked up (they don't deliver) from this place a few times now since I'm new in town, and the food has been below average to terrible every time. Best Chinese food I have ever had outside of the city.. I could taste fresh ginger and real chiles. The vegetables were perfection, crisp, fresh. The chicken was tender, with good quality chunks, no gristle. The sauce was so good that I literally drank it when the food was done. Not one of those corn starch, or syrupy sauces.
