Came in with a bunch of Funko Pops that were gifts from friends, but the ol' Retrostation needs occasional clearing out. I met Jorge at Midwest Gaming Classic and asked about the value of one of my Pops...Ryuk from Death Note...and he explained how The Pad/Dad Toyz does their trades.
So, the wife and I drove to Appleton from Milton, stopped for Q'Doba on the way, and spent an afternoon driving to what happens to be a clean, well organized, and amazing store - with a feeling of a local all-sorts shop, but with a friendly and approachable staff.
Everyone gave of a 'fandom' vibe? You know what I mean - no one was a sneering hipster or trying to come off like they were gatekeeping, etc. which is where the character Comic Book Guy comes from. Bonus star for that.
Clean store! Everything was brightly lit, clearly priced and organized.
Would make the trip again around my birthday to take a little more time in the store, since the prices were VERY fair, especially on the games.
Also, their trade policy is the fairest around - because they tell you up front how it works, and I respect that.
So, Commander Dan says - great store, check it out, five stars.
