I stopped into Leidenfrost today while in the Watkins Glen area prospecting for the company I am employed with, and I have to say it was a GREAT experience. Connor was running the tasting room and he was absolutely AMAZING. The atmosphere was inviting, the view was phenomenal, and Connor really outdid himself when it came to the customer service. From the moment I walked in he had a smile and was beyond accommodating. I was just going to stop in for a moment to ask for/share contact information, as I was running behind with not many hours left in the day, and just the way he welcomed me and spoke with me, had me not only staying for a drink, but coming back to have another one before I left town. This is a beautiful Vineyard with a lovely view of the lake and for me, most importantly, the best customer service I have ever received. He was very knowledgeable about the wine, funny, welcoming, and he just seemed like an overall great person and very down to Earth. He even went above and beyond once he knew what I liked, and made recommendations that were absolutely delicious. I'm sure, from the way Connor presented this place and the overall atmosphere, that everyone working there is wonderful, but I only met Connor today and he really impressed me. I cannot say enough good things about him or this family owned business. I highly recommend this place to anyone in the area and I highly recommend Connor. It's hard to find customer service that makes you feel relaxed and even harder when in the sales industry, because many people do not want to speak with you, but I felt 100% welcomed and I will definitely be going back soon to enjoy the view, delicious wine and mimosas, and hopefully to meet more of the staff. If you have not been there, you need to go! You will not regret it!...
Read moreI usually do not take time to write unfavorable reviews, but I found this time it was necessary. I read beautiful things about this place, and was excited for a nice visit and tasting. Having limited time on my getaway, I was looking for a beautiful scenery, good wine and service. Upon arrival, my boyfriend and I were told the place did not serve flights but only by the glass (one by one). We were okay with that. We were then seated by the bar with no option to be outside on the vineyard (which is one reason why we went there). We asked to be accommodated outside, which they said it was okay but then we would be responsible to go back and forth with our one by one glasses. We asked for an appetizer to go with our wine. We were pointed to a fridge that had store packed cheese. Some snacks (popcorn and crackers) were also pre packaged and the server just put them on the counter-no trays, just in their original package. We ended up going back and forth cutting our own cheese, eating pre packaged snacks and getting no valuable or pleasant info about the wines. While the scenery was beautiful, the serving was atrocious with no justice to the surroundings or to us as guests. The wine was beyond mediocre, and completely disappointing. We ended up paying and going to another winery that actually made up for this terrible experience. If I could give “0” stars, I would to this place. Do yourself a favor and do not be fooled by the beautiful pictures....
Read moreLeidenfrost is our absolute favorite vineyard to visit on our annual trip to the finger lakes for my birthday weekend. We were a little wary due to Covid about whether or not we would be able to continue our tradition, but after checking out the websites of some of the wineries we found that most were still open with some restrictions. We were elated to see that we would still be able to visit Leidenfrost! Making a reservation for our tasting was super easy, and once we arrived we were very pleased with the accommodations they had made for Covid. We were still able to do a full tasting and enjoy a glass afterward outside without any issue or concern of being too close to others outside of our group. We always walk away from Leidenfrost with two or more cases between our group. There isn't a wine that I had that I didnt want to take a few bottles home. Our server, Miranda (maybe?, i'm so sorry i've forgotten her name!), was very personable and knowledgable. She handled our group of four (each of us has VERY different tastes across wine) efficiently and gave us great recommendations. Personal favorites include Burlesque and the Cab Franc. My friends with sweeter palettes always love the Pink Flamingo and the Log Cabin Rose and White. Overall, put this place on your list for your next winery hopping trip, you...
