Breathtaking views and convenient location to some of Seneca Lake's best wineries and breweries!! This is the nicest and cleanest cabin I ever stayed in. The staff is friendly and responsive. I chose a Lakeview Double. Stayed in unit 28. When we opened the door there was a gift, 4 bottles of water and a welcome letter. A nice touch by the property owners. There were limited views of the lake through the trees from this cabin but still peaceful and serene. You can walk or drive down the road (very steep) to the waterfront where there are chairs. You can also bring your own camping chairs. Pull a chair up at the end of the dock or down on the rocks and dip your toes in the water while you watch the sunset or sunrise. No swimming though :-) The cabin had all the necessities. Pots, utensils, plates, cups, kuerig, k cups. There was dish soap and dishwasher pods under the sink. Overall everything was new and modern. The kitchen table is small and has 4 small stools. I am 275 lbs and fit on them comfortably. Just bring a camping chair inside if needed. Plenty of extra room in kitchen. Living room has 2 sofas and a table. Porch has 4 chairs and 1 table. Enjoyed a cup of coffee out there every morning. 2 bedrooms each with their own bathroom. There are toiletries and towels. Beds have all linens and 4 pillows each. TV in each room and the living room. Outside was a fire pit (pick up your own firewood) and a small gas grill. They pick up trash daily from the outside bins. Wifi connection was unstable on my cell but I had no issues with it on my laptop. Kid friendly property and there is a playground. Pet friendly in some cabins but make sure to call ahead first! They have different size cabins to meet all needs. I found the price to be reasonable for the location, view and amenities. I look forward to coming back here and will try to book a cabin closer to the lake. They fill up fast! A Sunoco and convenience store is right across the street for last minute items or drive down road 15 mins to Walmart. Plenty of amazing wineries and breweries surrounding this property so you don't have to go far if you want to stay low key. Or go to the top or bottom of the lake visit the parks, stroll Franklin street, hike Watkins Gorge, go to Three Brothers in Geneva. A lot to do in this area. A must add to anyone's travel list...great extended weekend getaway if you live within 3 to 4 hours of this...
Read moreWe stayed here for our 2 year wedding anniversary and couldn't have been happier! Coming from out of state, so we were going to be later than the check-in time listed so it was really great to have been able to do self check in (Covid friendly!) The whole cabin was spotless and roomy! We settled in, connected to the free wifi and watched some TV before bed - which was really comfortable! The "mini" fridge was way bigger than expected (nice surprise!) The only issue we had was connecting our Chromecast to the wifi to watch a movie on Netflix. It wouldn't stay connected. The next morning, we had some coffee on our private porch overlooking Seneca Lake. It was stunning. We walked downhill to the dock and a wedding was being set up - but we quickly enjoyed the scenery and walked back up. Tip - if you are upper lake view you might want to drive down to the dock as the hill back up is very STEEP! Quite the walk. We fell in love with the area, downtown Watkins Glen was 10 minutes away with plenty of restaurant's, shops, and ice cream. Watkins Glen State Park is 15 mins away, super convenient. We ended up going to Taughannock Falls State Park (about 20-30 min drive) and the drive was super easy, beautiful hilly farm lands. Found a few farm stands on the way that we stopped by to get homemade jam and firewood. Highly recommend this waterfall/hike during your stay. It was an easy walk with stunning views. Later that evening we stopped by Grist Iron Brewing down the road from our cabin and were greeted with more amazing views of Seneca Lake at sunset. Once back at the cabin, we used our fire pit and roasted marshmallows. These cabins are in the PERFECT location, right on the wine trail - easy drive to downtown for food and minutes away from waterfalls. We were greeted with a nice welcome card with local coupons and a wood carved bear, so thoughtful. We hope to make this our yearly weekend getaway! A true gem we fell upon, and Ashley was super accommodating! Thanks for the...
Read moreWe recently held our annual family reunion at Single Island Shores and it was an absolute hit! Accommodating 40 people can be challenging, but Single Island Shores made it seamless. We booked multiple cabins close together, effectively giving us our own little corner of the property. This setup was perfect for maintaining both privacy and togetherness.
The Upper Lakeview Chalet served as our central meeting spot and was ideal for our family picnic. It offered more than enough space for everyone to gather comfortably and enjoy the stunning views. The picturesque scenery around the property added a special touch to our event, making every moment memorable.
Ashley, who helped us with the check-in, check-out, and reservation process, was incredibly helpful and made organizing a large group feel effortless. Her assistance was invaluable in ensuring everything went smoothly.
The location is also a major plus. Being close to numerous wineries, a convenience store, and the charming town of Watkins Glen, there was so much to see and do, keeping everyone happy. Whether you’re looking to explore the area or just relax in a beautiful setting, Single Island Shores has something for everyone.
I highly recommend Single Island Shores for anyone planning a large group event, or a quiet getaway for two. The facilities, staff, and location are all top-notch. We’re already looking forward to our next...
