Garden World — Attraction in Town of Hempstead

This is my first time visit this store and I am impressed! This place has everything (tools, equipment, gardening supplies, seeds, etc. basically anything you can name it) you need for the garden and plants. I know nothing about taking care of the lawn, but I am trying to renovate my lawn for the very first time as my lawn is filled with weeds now. I was wandering around the weed killers, soils, seeds sections and a gentleman named John came up to ask if I needed help. I explained to him my situation and asked him for advice. He explained the whole process of renovating/restoring the lawn to me and gave me a few suggestions in terms of what products I should try. He answered all my questions patiently and made sure I understand what I needed to do. He was also very honest about what products/tools I should get at this point. He wasn't really pushing me to buy any of the equipment and tools. The store itself is very spacious and each aisle had lots of space to keep social distancing. Beautiful flowers, Horrible staff There are two Garden World locations and I’ve always had good experiences at the Francis Lewis Blvd location. So, yesterday I had expected to have a similar experience at the Franklin Avenue location. Well, I had the completely opposite experience. I purchased a Groupon but once I arrived I found out it can only be used with non sale items, and of course everything I wanted was on sale, no biggie I’ll just use it later. I make my selection and go to the counter to find out that the prices and discount which were posted above the plants weren’t the prices. When I questioned the cashier about their signage and showed her both the price and discount was on the same pole she became annoyed stating “the price is a sale and you can’t get two discounts”. I asked for a manager because the signage should be changed, we’ll the vitriol and dismissive tone that the manager displayed is unacceptable. Based on all the positive reviews I choose to try this place for my Spring landscaping purchases and being a smaller place than Home Depot I was hoping to get some of my questions answered by a knowledgeable or at least a friendly staff. Well, it didn't quite work out as I'd hoped. It was around 4:30pm on a Tuesday and the place was empty. I walked around for about 10 mins and there was no one around to help me, just a couple people conversing near the register. Finally I saw an employee approaching my way, we made eye contact and as I was about to say hi and ask him something, he turned his head and kept on walking without saying a word. Really? I understand you close at 5pm but that should not be an excuse to treat your customers so coldly. All I needed was a little assistance.
