The Rock Hall museum is a historic home situated in Lawrence, Nassau County, New York. This location offers a unique glimpse into the past, providing visitors with an opportunity to explore a piece of history in a beautiful setting. It is right in the middle of a suburban residential area and highlights what life was like living in the very same area 200-300 years ago. There are some original items and artifacts, as well as some period pieces. Excavations were done in the 80s from archeological perspective and presented to the public. While it was never end and aristocratic like other Long Island (or Rhode Island) homes, it is small enough to enjoy and see in an...

It's a historic house where a slave owner lived with his family over 200 years ago. You watch a 7 minute video about its history and then you can tour the house. The gentleman there was there to offer details and answer our questions. It has parking and a nice yard with picnic tables and chickens running around. So bring your old books...

This absolute gem took me by surprise. There are alpacas and chickens and cool breezes and serene resting spots. But that is the icing on this historical confection. Perhaps this is lost of kids who prefer the art projects the museum offers, but for locals and visitors this slice of the past is a worthwhile and...

This was surprisingly enjoyable. The tour guide really brought the time period alive. We were greeted by free roaming chickens in the property. I went in thinking it was going to be local history, but it really is a piece of American history. The gift shop had a lot of fun, cute old Americana items. I highly recommend for families with older children that can appreciate history.

Scheduled tour of Rock Hall, it was really interesting and deeply historical. Museum curator was engaging and fun to talk with, really cared about history of the house and could tell a story almost about any item or furniture piece. Highly recommend.
