Rock Hall Museum — Attraction in Town of Hempstead

The Rock Hall museum is a historic home situated in Lawrence, Nassau County, New York. This location offers a unique glimpse into the past, providing visitors with an opportunity to explore a piece of history in a beautiful setting. It's a historic house where a slave owner lived with his family over 200 years ago. You watch a 7 minute video about its history and then you can tour the house. The gentleman there was there to offer details and answer our questions. It has parking and a nice yard with picnic tables and chickens running around. So bring lunch and sit down to eat after and let the kids run around. The kids had fun outside as well. Entrance is through the back. Also, near the parking lot there is a Little Free Library stand. This absolute gem took me by surprise. There are alpacas and chickens and cool breezes and serene resting spots. But that is the icing on this historical confection.
