i am still in a state of shock as to the tterrible experience that my family and I just had in a restaurant that has opened up in the 5 towns. WHile I would never want to hurt or bash anyojnes parnasa not even my worst enemies. But for someone to so blatently have no remorse and be so un appologetic fior being so wrong. I feel as a community service I must warn my fellow friends. Tis is a person who I have patronized over many years, as he opend and closed many different restaurants. I have also sent him many customers. over the years, invcluding many of the year affairs, large partys, and have brought him in tens of thousands of dollars in business. I never once asked him for a thank you, nor did I ever recieve one. Im sure he has seen many times in his restaurant as his stafff knew me very well as being a regular in both his old and new restaurant. which is what makes what happened so much more disturbing. SO heres the Story: My wife and CHildren decided to take me out for fathers day, and i had requested to go to Masago in WOodmere. Our orders were placed very clearly. The food came out wrong, right from the beginging. I will quote the owner, Rafi, as he embarissingly screamed at the waitress in front of everyone . THis order was served wrong right from the begining. MY children were very upset to say the least. AFter serving not even a qtr of the meal and kept asking for the rst of the food the waitres jept coming over to us and asking if we wanted anything else to eat. After over an hour we decided we have had enough of this nonsesne ...I told my wife and children to meet me outside because I wanted to let thme know nicely that what was done was terrible. to which not only did rafi , the onwer scream at the waitress, and ask me to move away from the table so tha t he may seat the next customer, i was asked wgat foods did we have so the waiter knows what to charge ...I took 40 dollars out of my wallet which was about what i ordered and threw it down on the table and said i can not belive the waythis is beoing handled and walked out... Rafi came outside, and i said to him i cant belive you need to lear to not only scream at your waitress but to appologize to the customer as well...he began to scream at me that the bill came out to 160 dollarsand i only paid him 40 dollars... i told him i didnt even get 40 dollars worth of food.... and he called me a thief... i took out another 120 dollars from my wallet and thrw it in his pocket.... and said heres my money...now your the thief.... you not only llost my appetite tonight.. you lost a good customer... and i will be sure that all the referals that i had given over the years will know excatly what you did tonight. SHame on you on rafi. I am asked regularly where to eat,,,,,,,, You just lost a whale..both figuratively and physically. YOur a disgrace/ ...AS i said in the begining i usualluy would never want to hurt anyones parnasa.... But ya know what ...... I actually feel good now....This was very...
Read moreThe food was delicious the presentation was very nice but that is about all that was good. The rest was all downhill. We were seated at our table and someone came over and asked us what we like to drink we said we wanted water he said he would bring it right over his idea of right over was 15 to 20 minutes later even though we asked him twice. We also ask them if he could bring over some bread which he said he would. Meanwhile my granddaughter have gone to wash her hands as we waited for the bread to arrive. Of course it did not come and we asked the people at the next table who were seated at their table 10 to 15 minutes after us if they can spare some bread which they were kind enough to do. Our bread finally arrived 45 minutes after we were seated. My wife returned from washing her hands and as she's about to reach for a piece of bread the busboy or whatever they call them puts his hand out and grabs the basket of bread I say to him we just got it leave it here he said to me "TAKE IT EASY" takes it away from the table and then comes back with two baskets we still don't know what that was all about. We asked if we could get the garlic oil dip and had to wait for that as well it was all a comedy of errors. My grandson ordered sushi, the order is placed in front of him , finally we had to ask chopsticks and sauces . Nothing was done without multiple requests. The meal was served as I mentioned about that everything was fine the waiter was a nice man and came back multiple times asking if everything was okay and if that we were satisfied and we told them we were. When we sat down we were asked originally if we wanted avocado salad we said yes however it never materialized even though it was being made in front of our eyes and then we were asked when we almost finished with our meal if we want the avocado salad we said we did not want it anymore at that point. Avocado salad was being prepared for other people in the restaurant and it was interesting to note that at no point did anyone who was preparing the salad bother to wear any gloves so when they opened avocados and scooped them out they would get avocado on their hands and they would wipe it into the bowl so it's not to lose any of that precious avocado who ever heard of preparing food without gloves especially in this day and age you get to wonder what's happening in their kitchen in the back. We were served our deserts paid the bill and left. I am not from the five towns but I have eaten in many restaurants and fast food places there all the service was way way better than in this supposed higher class joint. No folks I don't have an axe to grind I just figured that if I go into a place that charges these type of prices with 7 adults and paid a lot of money I should get some sort of service which I...
Read moreLet me start by saying I never leave reviews let alone a bad one because I wouldn’t want to hurt someones business. That being said our experience in new Years here was an absolute disaster. We made a reservation days in advance for 8 people knowing we’d spend about $300 a couple. The owner knew how many people were coming and how many tables they had to make and he still thought it was OK to overbook so he can make more money and make us or someone else whoever was the lucky one to sit at a folding table and use uncomfortable folding chairs when our table is paying him close to $1500. We asked him nicely what we can do and no apology no money off , only to have him talk to us in one of most disgusting ways I’ve ever seen. He went on to say I don’t care I’ll have someone replace your reservation in 2 minutes. He gave us a 3 minute warning and then a 1 minute warning before we would be kicked out of his restaurant. From there the waiter was rude yelling at us to hurry up and listening to waiters yell at other people and at each other and the owner yelling at the waiters as well. To top it off all of our steaks were made wrong and either had to be remade or sent back. I ended up just suffering with what I had because it was getting to be too much and my steak was so rough I almost choked trying to chew it. It was like eating chewing gum. I tried adding suace to it but it was still the driest thing I’ve ever had in my life. And then instead of maybe giving us a discount for the disaster of a night they tried to sneak a 20% tip instead of the 18% mandatory tip for a party of our size. I will NEVER eat at this place again. They also did nothing special for new years. Doma is slightly more expensive but you leave there happy to pay your bill. I’m just shocked at how we were treated and the quality of the food and service here. Any owner who can treat their customers this way is disgusting. I’m shocked how they...
