Traditions, a culinary gem nestled in the heart of Lawrence, has been delighting food enthusiasts for over three decades, and my recent dining experience confirms why it has stood the test of time.
The ambiance at Traditions is a perfect blend of classic charm and modern flair, creating a welcoming atmosphere for every occasion, be it a family dinner or a romantic date night. The restaurant's central location, just minutes away from JFK airport, adds convenience to its appeal.
What truly sets Traditions apart is its commitment to excellence in service and dedication to each guest. From the moment I walked in, the staff made me feel like a valued customer, ensuring a memorable dining experience.
The extensive menu at Traditions caters to a wide range of tastes, making it a perfect choice for both discerning food connoisseurs and those with pickier palates. The culinary journey begins with the famous Big Mouth Burger, a true testament to Traditions' "go big or go home" philosophy. The combination of two all-beef patties, grilled pastrami, and their signature barbecue sauce creates a flavor explosion that is simply irresistible.
The recent expansion of the party room is a welcome addition, offering a perfect venue for private events. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or planning a gathering, Traditions provides a spacious and inviting setting to make your event memorable. Additionally, their diverse off-premise catering options ensure that the delectable flavors of Traditions can be enjoyed anywhere.
Traditions, true to its name, has become a place where old family traditions are celebrated and cherished, while also creating new and wonderful memories. It's more than just a classic deli; it's a culinary destination that invites you to savor the essence of time-honored flavors in a modern setting. I look forward to returning to Traditions for many more delicious meals and...
Read moreI would recommend going somewhere else. It was very loud and hard to hear who I was sitting with. I didn’t like the pastrami I had it was extremely salty and kinda slimy. Not completely on them since my friend loved the pastrami. Then I got my food boxed up to go and part of my meal wasn’t included in the container. They also didn’t include the pastrami I took off my sandwich which I was planning to box up for my friend who actually liked it. I guess I should have specified that the food on my plate should have been included but I’ve never had this happen at any other eating establishment I’ve ever been to. Given how pricey everything is, I’m not please that they didn’t include this. Overall would definitely say there are better places for kosher food.
What I will say on the positives is that our waiter was fantastic. We were a fairly large group and all of our food came at approximately the same time. He was very attentive and made sure everyone had what...

Wow am I impressed. We were seated right away. The waiter D. gave us time to review the menu. No rushing. We had some questions and he was able to answer them like he was the chef. He new the menu and didn't hesitate to recommend one item over another.
The table gets set the old fashion way with a large bowl of Cole slaw and a bowl of half sour and sour pics. (I miss this in the new age restaurants)
The apps came out really quick and was extremely surprised with the amount of food they give.
The mains came out soon after the apps were finished. Again the food was outstanding and the portion sizes were large.
Would have loved to have had dessert but we where STUFFED.
I highly recommend this restaurant.
