I have to be totally honest it was very disappointing and it really ruined the moment and killed what could have been an amazing experience and cherished memory. I was hoping to treasure this day my daughter and granddaughter and it left me with a bad taste and never wanting to experience pumpkin picking again considering it was a first for me and my daughter. We had to park across the street in a very tight makeshift parking lot on unkept grass with a sign that read " park at your own risk" although they had a gentleman there that appeared to be an attendant. We than had to cross a very busy two way street and walk at least another 5 minutes to the entrance where there was a line. I initially thought the admission was $ 10 for the family only to learn and pay $ 30 for the 3 of us to enter at $ 10 a piece. Now I could have understood the $ 10 charge for myself and my daughter but $ 10 for a 3 year old, wow!. Once inside I realized I had built up a unrealistic idea of what this pumpkin patch would be. I guess I have been watching too many Lifetime and Hallmark movies as it wasn't anything to write home about. I had my granddaughter pick a pumpkin and they charged 75 cents a pound although the website stated 69 cents a pound. After she picked her pumpkin we had to wait on another long line only to be robbed at the scale. 4 tiny pumpkins cost $16. Afterwards I thought let me get my granddaughter a cotton candy something that was an childhood favorite of mine and wanted to watch her enjoy it as much as I did as a child. So my daughter went and stood on another very long line for 25 minutes only to be told that they had no more. I guess I saved $6 on not getting that but my granddaughter would have to wait a little longer for my childhood experience to become hers. While my daughter was waiting on the long line I took my grand daughter to watch the magic show, we secured the only available table to sit at which was by a giant speaking that was blaring country music so unfortunately we were unable to hear what the so called "magician" was saying. However watching his act I realized she wasn't missing anything as it was very generic and not what I expected from a " magic show ". We decided that we just wanted to leave and needed to figure how to collectively carry 4 pumpkins and hold the hand of a 3 year old while crossing a very busy street without being hit by a car or at the very least dropping a very costly pumpkin. Needless to say it will go down as memory but not a good one. I also weighed the 4 pumpkins on a food scale and the total weight of all 4 is 10.44 [...
ย ย ย Read moreI would give 5 stars except the last part of my experience when we left for the day and for the price they charge. Why do we have to pay $10 each to enter and another $10 each kid for the rides and $8 for one round of pony ride and pay separate for the pumpkins and pay more for food. I spent over $100 for a family of 5. I could maybe go somewhere else where there is no entrance fee.
Today is my first time going at brightwaters farm here in bay shore. It is a nice place for pumpkin picking experience and a lot of stuff for the kids to do. Kids had a lot of fun on the rides and other things and Iโm thinking of coming back on the weekday or next year. Everyone of the staff was very nice and very helpful except the staff at the exit whose telling the customer that, โit is not allowed to bring the wagon outside the farmโ. I understand its the rule. I bought two big pumpkins and 5 small ones with my three little kids whose all crying and tired at that time. He told me I can bring the car closer and then he would help me carry the pumpkins to my car. When I brought my car closer on the other side of the road, I asked him if he could help me carry the pumpkins to my car, he said, โno absolutely notโ. I thought he said he would help me if my car is closer. He did not help me at all. I told him, โthank you for your help, youโve been very helpfulโ (the opposite), he responded by saying, โyouโre welcomeโ. Maybe I thought they were told not to help the customer in any way to carry pumpkins to the car or at least help me by looking at the traffic at the busy road while I cross the road. He told me his name is โAdamโ, and he said that Iโm on camera too, I didnโt do anything wrong, I only ask help from him. I called the number and asked to speak to the manager. I never met a person who is very unwilling to help a customer.
The manager called back...
ย ย ย Read moreThis is a wonderful location for the family for a quick in and out. The pumpkins are laid out in a field so you get the experience of a field but only quality pumpkins are there to grab. They charge 69 cents a pound which was great we got 4 large and 5 small pumpkins for like $50. The price on the stands is reasonable. The only thing overpriced is the idea of the bracelet for $20 for the kids 12 and under... it only has like 4 inflatables so don't waste your money. The staff is out of this world friendly! The farm provides wagons to pick up your pumpkins and bring them out to an area to load the car! So they hayride is neat they sing but it's very short so don't be afraid of the line it goes quick. Overall this is a wonderful place for 1 to 2 hours with the kids. You could stay longer but not much. It's totally...
