Arriving into the parking lot today my husband noticed he forgot his wallet at home so I called the store and they said it was fine that he could get a temporary card for today’s store visit. Since this had never happened before we went to where merchandise was being returned and I asked the young girl where to go and she pointed “over there”. I looked and the amount of people on a Sunday that are there is crazy! I looked at her like she said two heads because I had no idea where to go. Then she said “stand on the line where all those people are” so my husband, my two year old, and myself (39 weeks pregnant) stood in line where everyone was getting their receipts checked because that’s where it looked like she was pointing to. As we approached the older women with black short hair (up to her neck) who was also wearing glasses and has bangs, who saw we were clearly next to go to her completely ignored us. I started to talk to her and she was still ignoring us until I started waving at her. I asked her if this is where we went to get a temporary Costco card. She said “no you have to go member services” and I told her the young lady told us to stand here I’m not sure where member services is.. she said “it’s right THERE. That’s the member services line. I’m not a line. Do I look like a line to you?” And she rolled her eyes at us. I was so shocked at how she spoke to us as if we were stupid. We LOVE Costco we have never had a bad experience with an employee there until today. I told her thank you and went to go stand at the correct line. As we were waiting on line, she was talking to the gentlemen next to her (also checking the receipts) about how she has to keep doing things that “are not her job” and complaining about working there. Being a customer you do not want to hear that and it’s something that should be kept private not for the whole world to hear about how much you hate your job. The Costco at this location is amazing but that one employee really put a bad taste in my mouth. I don’t think somebody with that attitude who doesn’t want to help out a customer should be working there. When we left and had to have our receipt checked I tried so hard to avoid going to her but of course we got her. She didn’t even check our cart she just put a line on the receipt and let us leave. What if we had stolen something? Are these the type of people you want working for...
Read moreWent to Costco today with my family and had the worst experience of my life! My mother in law is an anxious person to begin with which is why she carries her service/ emotional support dog with her who is registered! We were stopped at the entrance door by an employee who told us that he was calling a supervisor! After waiting 10 embarrassing minutes with people walking past us while I am a black card member and constant back and forth between staff to get a supervisor Veronica the supervisor showed up and treated us like we were absolute garbage I am appalled to the response received by her! She told us that Costco does not allow emotional support dogs and called it a “poochie” dog regardless of telling her he smells low blood sugar and helps with her public anxiety.I’ve never had an issue going to any Costco with my mother in law and her service dog. They ask whether it is a service dog and allow us to proceed since it is not required in New York to have a vest nor ask the duty of the dog ! Veronica was not attempting to understand nor listen to anything we had to say. Is my mother in law not allowed to shop at Costco regardless of her disability? This is ridiculous I wish no one to experience this type of behavior...
Read moreI was in-store to sign up for a membership. I explained to the woman who was helping me sign up that I don't want to shop here, there's nothing i want or need, I just need the basic membership so I can use the credit card for gas and nothing more. this was like trying to wrestle an alligator because her wording and tone was deliberately trying to get me to purchase the most expensive membership (that I had first politely rejected at least 5 or 6 times in the span of 10 minutes). when that didn't work, she grabbed her coworker to have her go at trying to get me to buy the most expensive membership. I said no again, for the millionth time. I was given the cold shoulder from the first woman for the rest of the transaction and a random coworker of hers then tried his turn at convincing me the most expensive and unnecessary membership was "most beneficial" to me. in total, 3 people tried hard-selling me and it was extremely annoying. I don't know if i should be more annoyed with 3 people not taking at least 20 FIRM no's as an answer for 20-something minutes or the fact Costco puts so much pressure on their employees to do something that makes not only the customer, but the employees extremely...
