The collection of buildings were not all originally here. Like Bethpage Restoration Village they were saved and relocated here. It is a kind of museum you may not usually find anywhere else. Bethpage however, is more to my liking where you will find people in period garb performing daily tasks. I have not experienced this at Islip Grange. My experience was to look at the exterior of the buildings. Yeah, it's a thrill a minute. Not really. This place could be so much more. There should be docents to interpret Long Island history for visitors...
