Peppermint Museum — Attraction in Town of Lyons

We enjoyed a tour of this historic site located along the Erie Canal. Ms. Patrica Alena, also known as “Peppermint Patty”, a Historian and docent, led the tour and introduced us to a by-gone era which allowed us an exciting look into the entrepreneurial skills of Mr. H.G. This was a really nice museum all around the business of peppermint oil we walked through 10 rooms with our guide, who was well-versed on unique artifacts including a Gold Medal certificate signed by Prince Albert and another signed by Napoleon Bonaparte III. Loved this place. The tour by 'Peppermint Pattie' was fantastic. She just exudes passion, and brought the history to life. I had no idea that Lyons was once the peppermint capital of the world, and I also had no idea that a tour of an old peppermint oil manufacturer would be so engaging, but it absolutely was....
