Tioga Downs Casino Resort — Attraction in Town of Nichols

I wanted to cry when we left. Worst time ever!||Surprise night away for my husband's birthday. Went to casino to play a little before we went to check in our room. Checked in brought stuff to room looked to see heat was at 70 when I got in the room. Left to go back to the casino to kill some time before our dinner reservations. Which I booked a high top table at PJ Clarke's, I got a dirty corner table facing the wall that I wouldn't sit at until she cleaned it food and paper all over the table and floor, real safe with covid, as I pulled my chair out it was sticky where I had put my hand 🤮. Everyone was running everywhere and it wasn't even busy. I ordered the chicken mashed potatoes and broccoli. My chicken was dry and tasteless, my mashed potatoes were a clump from the old ice cream scoop and tasted like they came from a box. They forgot my broccoli so when they did bring it they might as well brought ranch dressing to cause it was raw. I mean come on that's everything on my plate. Needless to say I didn't eat. Manager came over he could use alil etiquette lesson. He said he would take the chicken back to his 3* chef. For what was he going to taste it? It was white in color non appetizing looked like it was boiled. Looked more like half a pigeon than a chicken. He did take my meal off the check but so much for my table or meal with my husband for his birthday. Our reservation was for 7:30 we never got out of there til 9 and considering I didn't eat I found this rediculous since the casino closes at 10pm. After a smoke outside we went back to the room to see it was chilly but after being outside I thought it will warm up. Now for the Rain shower what a joke it's a glorified boys locker room shower including the pubes from someone else. Don't use the shampoo omg my poor hair! So as we crawl into bed the alarm starts going off why I didn't set it? The comforter which you put on the bed yourself from a bag from the closet. Why this is I have no earthly idea as they put the sheets and pillowcase on so wth is the difference in this? Anyways I booked a King-size deluxe room it came with a queen size comforter for myself and my husband to share. That doesn't work in a king bed. I awoke to go to the bathroom in the night and it was freezing in the room. I wasn't going to the desk at this point because if I'd of had to pack my stuff to move rooms I'd of gone home at this point. Also the damn snack machine in the hall robs you it owes me $3.25 and there should be instructions for it don't put money in for all ya want, put exact change in pick your item repeat. By the time morning came I couldn't wait to leave I wasn't eating breakfast at the same place that screwed me before. And would you come back where you complained? I told the front counter woman at check out the heat didn't work in the room and she was rude and asked me why I didn't call in the middle of the night to tell them. First off it's not my responsibility to tell you what's wrong with the hole you call a casino 2ndly are you and the manager at Pjs related? Well catch a ride with him to that same etiquette class, cause after the time I had at your establishment I didn't need your rude tude!!! Also I realize we got alot of snow but ankle deep with ice to your door is asking for a law suit. But I guess that's what the winnings were saved for. Had a great time and experience, however the things I am disappointed in are miniscule they should most definitely be looked over. Upon arrival our room was taken care of prior, we arrived on Thanksgiving maybe that's why it was such a a mess there, but still staffing is important and this is a casino so you'd think this is something they're more familiar with than most. Yet I had no idea where to go as we ended up going to the wrong area at 1st. The staff available were amazing! The problem is it seemed to be a skeleton crew of which seemed at the core they'd rather be anywhere else. I don't blame them as a human. As a professional though you do have to curb as much as possible upon walking in the door. You're being paid to be there after all. But I regress. Other than there being 0 amount of turkey available in the dining area on Thanksgiving. They had some promotion going on and it got lost in translation somewhere because we specifically asked the person taking out reservations and it was said that the menu did say the turkey was available. But there was none at dinner time and very very few people there, at least not a number that would not even should ever cause a casino to be out of something so important as that on a day such as thanksgiving. Then there were never casino passes pushed or even asked if we wanted so I spent the night in the room after dinner because nothing else was even open and there were no clear instructions in the rooms for 1st timers and there were to few people available and weren't extremely busy to ask meanial questions to such as that so I played bitcoin casinos on my phone, I bring that up only because that's the attraction right? The casino? You should carve that out more and make that more of a fixture for guests that come in from other places. As I didn't even realize where to find the casino until much later in the evening. Nore was there ever an expression towards getting passes, deals, anything such as that upon setting up the rooms. When I had asked after hearing other guests mention it was when I finally figured out that there were plaques on the wall in some areas and was shown were the others would be. Add some lights or add an app idk if you actually have a set up or not or if it was just the holidays that made it crazy I'm not going to say it was the worst experience because it wasn't but it didn't stand out as a trip such as a trip to a casino or casino related at all. I've been to a few and I knew I was at a casino I guess is the only way I know how to say it. I'm not trying to bash in any way whatsoever.
